Banned for "Defending" myself.

Just a little pretext about myself, I've been playing league for the past 3 or so seasons. I play 3-4 games a day with friends and I'll be the first to admit, there have been times I've been toxic. For some reason, something about league can create a "tick" in me. I'm not usually the one to start raging, but, if someone starts calling me "bad" or flames me, I'll go off on them.

I've been banned in the past and admittedly I deserved those bans. Last season I was ALOT more toxic than what I consider myself to be now. When I got banned last season, and lost out on my end - of - season rewards I told myself I'd make a attempt to be less toxic. It's been working out for me decently, most of the time I just try to say my comments out loud and I've noticed a huge improvement (compared to how it used to be) as a player (becoming WAY less toxic, and just talking less in general).

Anyhow... Fastforward to tonight, I was playing with my friend all day and in our last game we had a Amumu on the other team who was trolling his team (he gave up pretty early and would walk into our team 1v5 purposely, and later towards the end he didn't even group with his team, he just split lanes as we were taking inhibs). Eventually he said something in all chat to the effect of "youre bad, youre not even good" or something like that.

At that point I decided to reply back saying "come on now, why are you so toxic". From then on we were exchanging conversation and he purposely just kept egging me on. I said a few things to him (only directed at him) and before the game ends his team politely asks to report amumu for trolling, which we all happily did. After that game while in queue for a new game I was banned. I mean I get why I was banned but at the same time I didn't initiate conversation with him, I wasn't trolling like he was, and I didn't say anything that bad.

Players like that amumu are what makes this game so toxic. Trolling his team, trash talking his opponents for no good reason. No one egged him on, no one said a word to him, nothing. I get it, I shouldve muted him, but in the heat of the moment, being the type of person that I am I just HAD to reply.

TLDR - Was toxic in the past (very), made good improvements, being way less toxic from before (dont say a word unless someone flames me first). Have one game with a trolling opponent trash talking me, decide to reply to his trash talk, get banned.

Honestly at this point I just want to know what I can do to get my account back. As I mentioned above, I know what I did was wrong, I know I shouldnt have replied to him, and for that I apologize. I'd appreciate a Rioter response with maybe a guideline of what I should do, what I should work on, and etc. At this point I dont even care if I'd have to be permanently muted.

Your problem is this imo...I have been playing this game since it was FIRST was released..I've seen it grow to where it is today..I've seen toxic players A LOT for no reason at all..I tried the approach, talk back get into this back n forth convo..No Good..Not only was it bad for me but it defiantly made my games suck much more..I finally said to myself, no matter what they say to me BAD WORDS, teammate or not, I'm not going to respond AT ALL..So what ALWAYS happens is this..They then turn their focus on another player other then ME..So you might want to try that and see how that works for you..Also I've NEVER been banned from a game even though I have said a few responses and didn't troll but they still said we are reporting you..I said AFTER the game in the lobby go ahead..I NEVER been banned or even threaten to be banned..Just a thought to you.. Oh yeah I one of the FEW people who received one of those Bronze Teemo Statues even before they started to sale the little action figures..A total collector Item..For being an Awesome Player with good reviews..

I never quite understood defending yourself in this context. What exactly do you prove defending yourself here? People trash talk and if you don't like it mite and report them. Done! Being toxic towards people who were toxic first is still being toxic. And that type of excuse didn't word in grade school, so why use it now? Everyone should me mature about this when playing, and sadly while other seem to think its ok to break the rules, you are breaking them as well when you are toxic towards them!
