When your team fights amongst themselves more than the enemy...

I am really tired of reflecting on one of the big factors of why I can't climb in ranked because for every game you gain LP, there is always that one game... You know what I'm talking about, the one where the whole team except you and the other dedicated player who actually WANTS to climb stay quiet for a bit and then starting in champ select the team is already fighting. No matter how much you discourage the team from fighting and try and diffuse the situation, they are too salty to stop arguing... You look at your trainwreck of a team, with you and that one dedicated stranger doing pretty well, and then you look at the rest of your team, then you can't help but be angry at yourself for not having the near perfect cooperation on the other team.. The fighting gets to the point where you have a 1-16-7 brand support with no sightstone, 1-12 warrior kindred only able to afford 3 items, and a 6-16 alkali who dives fed enemies despite only having a gunblade t1 boots, and hourglass... No matter how much I tried to break up the situation, my toxic teammates even completely embraced the fact that they were being toxic, and asked for themselves to be reported because they just didn't care....... It was an inevitable loss because the rest of the team refused to play, and instead decided to fight to preserve their pride in chat over attempting a comeback........ The enemy team still praised this stranger and I, for our dedication and handed us out some honors, but it just makes me think..

What is it that makes people so defensive on any disagreement instantaneously? What can I do as an anonymous individual to stop all these stupid fights over something as trivial is "You should go a tanker support" responded with "No, fuck you go die"... from happening in solo queue?

I have a pretty strong belief that if the community was less toxic, so many people, myself included, would be able to get out of low elo if we could embrace teamwork and actually cooperate to win instead of fighting well before second 1 of the match...item 3151

Yes, there are individuals in the community who tend to let their anger get the better of them, and in cases like these, I would do the same thing that you did.

A big question to ask is what they hope to accomplish by attacking their team. I don't know too many cases, whether from personal experience or from reading anyone else's experiences, where negativity within one's own team led to players trying harder, playing better, or working together. What's done is done, and if someone loses lane, sure, players can give them some positive advice, but to sabotage your own team with hateful words doesn't make the game enjoyable or contribute anything positive.

If they still tend to be negative after that question's been posed, there's really not much that can be done, as they simply don't understand how team cohesion works. In cases like these, let the system work these players out, and if they still don't know what they've done and they visit PB&M, we can give 'em some clarity into why the hell they were punished. ;)

Stay positive, friend!

To be fair, most people who get triggered by someone giving them pointers (in a nice manner of course) are likely stuck in their ways and trying to talk sense into them is like a dwarf asking Smaug to give up the gold he usurped from the dwarves; it isn't going to happen and you are going to get chewed out.

I think a huge part of staying in lowest elo is inability to listen to any advice which starts w/ "may be you can/could/should try xyz" etc.

Keep your chin up and soldier through; hopefully you come across 4 decent people w/ similar mmr and use dynamicQ to your advantage to climb out of that hell.

GL!

Edit: Here's a song I often put on when my team starts going down the path you mentioned above; it always brings a smile and makes me less frustrated.
