Flame or truth, what is the difference?

Hello everyone. You can call me Scrub.

I have had a problem, not only recently, with players constantly flaming other members of my team and then claming that they were simply stating facts or the truth. I wonder if anyone else encounterd this problem (I doubt I am alone in this) and if anyone have an idea how RIOT or we, the community, can handle this in a mature way.

To me it isn't as simple as just pressing the ignore button because more often than not this aggression is not pointed at me directly, but more at the team in general. While I can mute the player, my team might not do the same and then this flame will still affect our chances of winning the game, or in any way just having fun playing together.

Personally I would like to see that RIOT Games would publish some sort of article or video that tackles this issue and explains that sometimes, even if it might be the truth or a fact, flaming is still flaming and it is still wrong. This will not remove the problem, but I think it might help a bit. I also this we as a community have a big responsibility to help players who are frustrated over a game. We must remain positive and try to calm the person down, instead of counter-flaming as I see so often.

It makes me sad when I get in to a game and I see someone flaming. So I am reaching out to my brothers and sisters in arms for help. How can we overcome this problem? How can we solve the issue of flame?

(In this post I will link a video that has helped me a lot when I have been tilted or just had a bad game where I encounterd a flamer, or when I feel like I am starting to rage of flame. The video is not mine, but I get very emotional everytime I watch it because it describes my feelings towards the current sittuation of League of Legends perfectly. It is a video that changed the way I saw things while playing the game. It changed the way I play the game and I think everyone here should watch it.)

and then this flame will still affect our chanses of winning the game.

This is why people do it, not only here but in any kind of competition

When I see people insult others on my team, I simply say "Insulting your teammates doesn't make them play better." I often get the "not insulting if it's the truth." I might take the time (if I'm dead or returning to lane) to explain that you can give people advice without calling them bad. But I usually mute them after saying two to three things on the subject so as not to drag down my own play.

i came here because of a google search because i got recently flamed by my team which made me feel bad, because i felt like i ruin the experience of everyone, even if i'm trying my best - really giving all i have the entire time - but it wasn't enough - i tried a new champion and had to get used to it - so you might think okay, whatever just one game, now u can play it. But that feeling and the stress my misplaying caused led the other members of my team to loose interest in the game, like they said after the game "i need a break now" and i felt their frustration and anger throughout the game while they were communitcating to me "don't do that, splitpushing" "you don't seriously plan to take the red?" "ugh, if not half of the team was beeing dead we could contest it" - you hear how they aiming at you but their, beeing nice stops them from directly insulting you, but its basically the same. However i liked the time i spend trying the new champ, even if i could not do everything i wanted to do because they stoped me and didn't have any feith in me "2v2 adc and support with you - rather not" - you feel so useless and sad they don't belive in you. Its really depressing. however i just logged in to like that you created the post, took your time and shared the video - which i really like so. Thanks for reading my mind have a nice day and idk. be nice, change the world do something good whatever - keep ur smile
