why we have a surrender option in ranked?

Recently i started playing soloqueue games 24/7, and in many of them i wanted to surrender. You dont have to point out that im a bad player or stupid or whatever, thats not the point. The point is, I didnt want to keep playing, so I call for surrender. But after playing about 500 ranked games the amount of times people actually did surrender is insanely small, about 2-3 games total. Meanwhile, I got a 10 games chat restriction, then 25, then 14 days ban. And all that just from reports for negativity due to me wanting to surrender. Keep in mind, i never afk or int, i always do the best i can and nobody could tell me something about that. They just report me for the surrender. And i ask, why such an option exists, and several times during a game that is, when the 99% of the playerbase is just getting tilted from it? What purpose does it serve besides making people who give up easily, like me, collecting a bunch of reports for using literally a game option? i feel like a one time only chance around 20 min is more than enough using majority vote system. If 3 out of 5 people in the team want to ff that means half the team doesnt want to continue and is forced to a tilting mentally exhausting situation, that will more often than not leat to negative or abusive behaviour followed by reportsand frustration that is usually being carried to the next game.

You have a surrender option for when a game has gone so south that it's no longer fun for the majority of the team, and they want to just cut the extremely likely loss and move on.

The surrender option is not for one player to give up the game. If you want the freedom to leave a game when it goes south, play a game where you don't commit to 4 other players to try your hardest until the end.

Let's be real - it's not a majority. A majority is 3/5 people wanting to give up. When it's 4/5 people that are required for a surrender, that is not a simple majority. If the majority of the team (a majority being when one side outnumbers the other) wants to surrender, they have to get one more person on board in order to surrender, which is ridiculous. Over half the team wanting to give up can be stopped by a duo queue team who decided that they want to stretch it out for another 20 minutes.

so... it's a super-majority? (A supermajority or supra-majority or a qualified majority, is a requirement for a proposal to gain a specified level of support which is greater than the threshold of one-half used for majority.)

The option to surrender is not forcing you to behave poorly.

It's there so the coddled can be more coddled. Basically you can be trash and ruin the game but use this as a crutch so you can get to the next game faster and be trash and ruin another game all the while never learning anything. Too bad most don't use it for the right reasons but abuse it instead for the reason I just stated.

This. Most players can't adapt and would probably argue that they shouldn't have to if they're good enough. If playing the same way they always do and doing the same things they always do isn't working out for them, they just want to "reset" and try again rather than learning to play from behind and accepting that it's not always going to be all about them and they might actually have to work closely with teammates who are doing better.

I'd even go far as to challenge RIOT and their minions who invade this board to show us the following number...

The percentage of players who initiate a surrender with a KDA bordering on intentional feeding or even a negative KDA not just the full surrender itself.

I would wager that the number would be somewhere between 80% and 90%, maybe higher.

IMO this is abuse and anything that can be easily abused like this coddling surrender option needs to be stripped from the game.

Show us the number RIOT. I know you have it or can get it. Stop justifying it with the reason we all know it's supposed to be used for and get rid of it because it's not being used for what it's supposed to be used for.

Why would you surrender a winning or winnable game? There's a reason why that is.

It's cool if you want to go off subject but I hope it's also cool that I tell you that your post is an ignorant post that has nothing whatsoever to do with mine. Maybe you can explain yourself a bit better?

You can keep talking in riddles like you are or explain yourself. It's that simple.

Personally I would wager against it.

I would say it is more likely the people who are ahead, giving up because someone on the other team is ahead in lane.

Example: my adc is 4/0/0 and the enemy mid is 2/0/1. The mid comes down to bot and kills the adc. Adc: "gg mid fed ff 15"

Like I said I would love to see the numbers. Yes, there are going to be people like this who initiate a surrender but then again I NEVER SAID ALL SURRENDERS and then some smartass comes and pulls dumb obvious shit out of his ass. Had I said ALL SURRENDERS then your post would mean something. As it is you just basically showed how ignorant you are by not reading and comprehending anything I wrote. I would love to take your money if we could see actual numbers.

Maybe you should take a moment to go back and read what I wrote again. I'll go ahead and reiterate for clarity though.

You said 80-90%, yes, and I said that I believe it is more likely not to be the person doing bad, but someone else; the person ahead.

Was it misunderstood because I didn't use percentages? If so I will admit some fault as long as you can admit your own as well for assuming.

It's an opinion not an assumption. I specifically challenged RIOT to provide numbers. I am not saying you are wrong but it's been my experience that the person who initiates the surrender is usually the one who's KDA is out of wack. I guess I should have said early surrender as well. The 15 minute mark because that is the one that I often see being abused. That's my fault for not including that.

you wont get punished for trying to surrender. but you could get punished for arguing with your teammates and trying to convince them to surrender.

it doesnt work anyway. all you are doing by trying to convince people is getting them to dig in their heels and never vote for surrender. just throw up a vote and if it doesnt succeed just let it go. keep fighting and try again in a few minutes if things are even worse.
