Just had a very "special" match of Ascension
My team was thrashing the enemy team, and just as we hit 199/200 points... the other four members decided to surrender, thus making us lose a guaranteed match.

I have seen cases where players that do this consistently were punished for trolling. I'd recommend submitting a support ticket with all the information you can and explain what they did so that it can be investigated.
Probably a 4man group? Lowering their MMR so they fight very weak opponents, but keep conceding so they stay low MMR.
I mean i've had it happen to me once before too.
The first guy thinks it would be funny to start a surrender so he starts it. And then, one person presses yes thinking the next guy won't press yes just to get a laugh at it. And before you know it, you got 3 votes yes and all those dudes are thinking the final guy won't do it.
And then the final guy is just lookin at the surrender vote like: "should I tho... should I tho... should I?". "if I do we'll lose, but it will be funny as hell and all the other dudes are gonna regret pressing yes"
It's like havin the nuclear button out on the table like, just staring at it. You get tempted to push it just cuz no one wants you too.
My guess is in your game: the final dude decided to follow through just because the other dudes pressed yes. lmao.
