Chat logs from Riot employee telling me "lmao" and "get a life" are "toxic"

Getting flamed, trying to calmly react to this guy. No swearing. and I get banned for it. I also got banned for simply calling the enemy team riven shit in team chat. Oh. and telling a toxic person "I hate toxics like you", is apparently bannable. Hey there,

I looked into the logs that you were penalized for. While I do understand that League can be pretty frustrating at times, its still never okay to be negative towards others.

Here are some of the logs we found to be negative:

Going forward, please make sure you are muting negative players rather than responding to them in game. We do want to address negative behavior, but we are only able to do so once the game ends.

Meanwhile he was calling me retarded and throwing racial slurs. I was talking in team chat about the ENEMY riven I was AGAINST in TOP LANE. And yes, I suspect somebody hurt this man's mind when he was young as he was simply appalling to talk to/ play with. This community seems to enjoy it when people get banned for standing up for themselves. Strange world we live in today.

Them starting it or them having worse behavior does not absolve you of your own behavior.

If you have a problem with their behavior, you report them. You don't start firing back insults of your own.

There's a difference between standing up for yourself and being a jerk, and you can defend yourself without resorting to insults and namecalling. If you know that someone wont stop flaming in chat then the best course of action is to just mute, report and move on rather than fight fire with fire.

While it's unfortunate you had this kind of player in your game understand that other people behaving poorly will not give you a free pass to behave poorly as well. Retaliation only results in you getting in trouble alongside them assuming they have a history of poor behavior. Again just mute, report and move on.

Try taking his/her advice. It might actually do you some good, rather than just instantly dismissing the idea and that "everyone else is wrong!"
