Chermorg1 votesCould be any number of issues - suspicious account activity, a chargeback (bought RP but Riot didn't get the money from CC company), hacking, etc.
Contact support at https://support.riotgames.com and they'll be able to help you.

Can you please copy paste the message you receive when you log in? It simply cannot be the case that the message only says "you have been banned".
Chermorg1 votesThat doesn't make sense.
If it was a preventative compromised account lock, they'd require you to submit a ticket while logged out to recover the account.
If it was a ban for scripting/third party programs/feeding/toxicity and it was validly placed, they won't give you the account back.
If it was a chargeback, once you pay them they usually remove the ban.

I'm hijacking this comment, if you want to find the exact reason you may be able to get an email stating the details, if not go log on to the support page and make a ticket and they will give you the details about the ban besides how they found it.
Imperial Pandaa2 votesWait... Can you log in? If when you log in a thing pops up explaining how long the ban is and reason, we can help. If you received a random message in client and can click things; ignore it. The latter is a troll messing with you.
