Leaverbuster timer restarts each season

I'm a level 33 zed main with some pretty strict parents. My parents don't give any craps what I'm doing. When she says get off, it means to get off or I will be forced to face some extreme consequence even if I only delayed a few minutes. If I tell my mom that I'm finishing a game. She does not care and only cares that I get off.

Not only my parents but lag. Lag or rubber banding that every single League of Legend player has faced before. Last game, I restarted my router after champ select because I saw that my ping was jumping over 250. However, it took a little bit more time than I thought, it took me about 2 minutes to do. But when I came back, my team remade the match and I was called a leaver. I understand that leaving a match could affect not only you but your teammates too. But with all due respect, come on riot, not that much. Leaving a game lowers the chanced of your team winning but by not that much. And I mean it when I say why should players face 100+ minutes of absolutely nothing for just leaving a few games for reasons that the players have no control over.

Adding the low priority queue will not "help" players to stop leaving games because like I said, the players have no control over it. You can't change something that you can't do anything about. Say you keep sleeptalking at night and your mom tells you to shut up and grounds you for it. Unfair, right?

The point is, leaverbuster is obviously way too harsh of a consequence and should get drastically reduced or at least reset every season. Overall, league players do not "purposefully" leave games to troll or directly impact other players.

do the crime, do the time. Context really doesn't matter.

But they do. I know plenty of people that leave because they don't want to play the match with those people, or that team comp, or whatever. I've left ARAMs where I don't want to play the champ I was assigned. I deserve the 5min leave penalty because I wasted the time of 9 other people. While there are cases like yours, it's not as common as the person that just doesn't want to go through with the game they are in. Or who just left to go get pizza and never came back.

  1. This may sound harsh, but if you cannot commit 60 minutes to a game that you know you will be able to finish because you have a chance of being called away by your parents - Don't play League. It does not matter your personal situation, if you are constantly being punished by LeaverBuster it means you're constantly afking and ruining games for others.

  2. I disagree with you that the LeaverBuster will not help players stop leaving games. It looks like you're seriously considering stopping playing League due to the punishment - while the ideal situation is you fixing the issues causing you to leave, you ceasing to play the game at all means you can no longer afk and ruin games for others. The punishment is working.

  3. When people complain a punishment is too harsh, 95% of the time it's because the punishment is working.

Just ask your parents if you can play another before starting one so you can be sure that you can play until the end. Also ask your parents if you can have cable connection so you don't have problems with lag anymore and otherwise just move from spawn before resetting your router. Good luck! Gnar

It sounds like you are not allowed to play League or other videogames with your parents. You should probably have a conversation with them and ask your mom if she is okay with you playing videogames. Its not Riot's problem that you choose to do something that you are not allowed to do and then you keep leaving. If the punishments are actually "extreme" like you say they are, then you shouldn't be playing this game at all. Lets think rationally here. If you can't convince them to let you play then you just shouldn't play.
