Why is it allowed to spam same ping in a short period of time?

It should not be allowed by system. I can't imagine when it's useful for teammates, and usually the one who do so is toxic/annoying for rest of the teammates. Ping once or 2 times is just enough to draw their attention.

So here is my suggestion: Restrict ringing same ping up to 2 times within a few second.

I would like to hear what you guys think about this.

Sometimes I like to ping MIA for other lanes, so I want the ability to if top and mid disappear at the same time (since they might be prepping for Rift Herald or 5-man bot gank) so I can warn my team.

Also, I like to use the pings to indicate the likely path of my lane opponent. For example, if my top-lane opponent goes missing and mid is over-extended, I will:

  • Ping MIA in my lane
  • Ping Danger in the path they will likely take (i.e. through our jungle, behind my ally)

I will often issue a ping twice to ensure that my allies notice it. This is most common for MIA pings, but I will often do it when I want them to disengage (since I know they are about to get ganked).

Then again, I typically jungle so I'm watching the map more than most. I don't always have to gank your lane to help you out.

Honestly, toxic players would just alternate pings if they wanted to spam you. It isn't much effort to alternate blue and yellow pings.

I'd much rather have the ability to mute and/or hide pings from specific allies. If the player is ping-spamming others to be toxic, they aren't going to have anything useful to communicate anyways.

What if you want to danger ping multiple areas? Or MIA ping multiple lanes? My communication is almost entirely pings, mainly when I jungle because I'm constantly warning my team of danger and MIA pinging a lane when the enemy is out of sight or I believe them to be roaming. Also, many times players just are so zoned or unaware that they don't even notice pings, such as the assist me ping. I usually will triple ping the assist ping because in most situations my team can't afford me trusting that one ping will serve its purpose. I also occasionally double/triple MIA/danger ping due to players taking those ping patterns more seriously, and is just one way I expand the ping system as my form of communication.

I don't spam the pings, I ping however much I believe to be appropriate to the situation, or however much I believe is needed to make my team aware of what I'm trying to communicate.
