Purposefully banning someone else's champion

I understand that this happens a lot, especially if say someone's playing a champion that's highly meta but they're last pick. I'm a mordekaiser player, and I duo adc bot lane with a friend of mine. We ran into the same jungler after a single bad game and he banned my champion. Is there any repercussions for this? It was obvious that he was holding onto hateful thoughts (he purposefully chose twitch jungle last game simply because he believed that we needed an adc) Many thanks!

That's not a productive or helpful thing to say. If you want them to stop taking it personally when people ban their picks then you need to explain it reasonably and in a way that they are going to listen to.

Ouchies. But no, it was a genuine question. It seemed unfair that someone could ban a champion you were gonna play and not go unpunished for it.

No simply banning a champion most definitely does not warrant a punishment.

Riot's stance is that people are free to ban teammates' pick-hovers, in part because it can be perfectly legitimate under certain circumstances.

My suggestion if you want to avoid it is to simply wait to show your pick-hover until after the ban phase.

Oh, well then that's probably a spite-ban, arguably I think it would be reportable, although I can't guarantee that Riot will act on it.

If i had a mord adc that did bad and then had them again next game I'd probably tilt and ban Mord too...

Probably. Although I didn't do too bad, I did the most damage in the game.

You don't ADC if you play Mordekaiser. He is not an ADC.
Playing Mordekaiser bot forces someone else to pick an ADC, because it's a necessary role in most games. Unless it's already been discussed that the jungler is Graves/Kindred/Ezreal or top is picking Quinn/Vayne, then you actually aren't allowed to play Mordekaiser bot. Sure, back THREE YEARS AGO when Mordekaiser was slightly adjusted, the intention was for him to be played bot. But that fell flat when they nerfed his Q, and hasn't been a viable option for a good two years.

Doesn't answer my question, which was whether it was reportable. I can see your point, and I know mordekaiser is weak right now. However, because I use my ult specifically on enemy adcs [keep in mind that it's silver elo] it works decently. Now anyways, I still would like to know if this was reportable since he was obviously banning my champion out of spite, not out of true reason.

No, banning someone else's champion isn't reportable. And in the OP you wrote exactly why-- high priority picks are reasonable to ban even if your last pick has them declared. And that reasoning extends to anyone your allies have declared.

But playing Mordekaiser bot is reportable.

Although high priority I can understand, but why a no pick champ like Mordekaiser? Although I suppose some people are salty enough to insta ban Mordekaiser bot. But hey, Wins are for me

Alright, think of it this way. There are actually two prominent explanations for why someone would ban Yasuo:

He is very annoying to play against at mid, as he counters most mages.
He is very annoying to have on your team if someone thinks he's still a top laner when he's not.

Your Mordekaiser bot pick falls into the second category. You're under the misconception, I'm sorry to say, that Mordekaiser is still viable bot lane when the nerf to his Q made that impossible. It's even gone so far that they have removed his suggested bottom lane build from the game.

I've got a friend who likes to do troll picks (there's a distinct difference between off-meta and troll), and he acts as if they work simply because when he does well, the enemy was so lacking in fundamental knowledge of the game that they get completely steamrolled by something that actually doesn't work 80% of the time.

I've got a feeling you're of the same delusion regarding Mordekaiser.
