Purposefully banning someone else's champion

I understand that this happens a lot, especially if say someone's playing a champion that's highly meta but they're last pick. I'm a mordekaiser player, and I duo adc bot lane with a friend of mine. We ran into the same jungler after a single bad game and he banned my champion. Is there any repercussions for this? It was obvious that he was holding onto hateful thoughts (he purposefully chose twitch jungle last game simply because he believed that we needed an adc) Many thanks!

Riot's stance is that people are free to ban teammates' pick-hovers, in part because it can be perfectly legitimate under certain circumstances.

My suggestion if you want to avoid it is to simply wait to show your pick-hover until after the ban phase.

No punishment. It is what it is.

If i had a mord adc that did bad and then had them again next game I'd probably tilt and ban Mord too...

  1. You don't ADC if you play Mordekaiser. He is not an ADC.

  2. Playing Mordekaiser bot forces someone else to pick an ADC, because it's a necessary role in most games. Unless it's already been discussed that the jungler is Graves/Kindred/Ezreal or top is picking Quinn/Vayne, then you actually aren't allowed to play Mordekaiser bot. As evidenced by these two similar cases of "role stealing": https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behavior-moderation/FrILlWp7-14-day-ban-because-playing-nunu-support-with-smite-is-stealing-other-peoples-roles https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behavior-moderation/79aGu3wR-support-singed-isnt-banable-but-thats-not-the-point

Sure, back THREE YEARS AGO when Mordekaiser was slightly adjusted, the intention was for him to be played bot. But that fell flat when they nerfed his Q, and hasn't been a viable option for a good two years.

No simply banning a champion most definitely does not warrant a punishment.
