So I play mid, a highly sought after role, and have had, on multiple occasions, players on my team ban my champ after i chose them in champ select cause they want to play mid and are hoping ill give them the role if i cant play my main. I always dodge these games cause Im not going to play with scum like this, just wish there was a way to report these people. Thoughts?
Chermorg4 votesIt is very hard to prove that they are abusing the system.. and even so, Riot considers the ban system to take priority over desired picks. As such, they're permitted to ban whatever champions they want, and this behavior is not reportable.
If you think the game mechanics need to be changed, it is likely better to discuss that on the Gameplay boards. An example being if you have ideas of how to change the champion select process to eliminate the possibility of this happening, without simply punishing people who use the mechanics they're given.

In my humble opinion, solo-queue champion select should be changed so that until after the ban phase, chat is disabled and players cannot show their pick intent. Maybe hide summoner names until after ban phase too, to prevent people from looking up one anothers' match history to figure out what to ban to force a dodge or role swap.
This way players have no way to know what their teammates want to play, and will be unable to ever ban their teammates' intended pick. it gives the added bonus of preventing players from having any possible reason to think that their teammate banned something to spite them.
Chermorg1 votesThis isn't a bad idea - but I believe the whole reason for including it is that players wanted the option to show people what they wanted to play, so that way players who wanted to cooperate would not ban. I think the way it is now is decent, in that players choose if they want to show their champion to avoid it being banned, and risk the small chance someone bans it out of spite, or if they want to not show it and just hope it doesn't get banned.
HalcyonDweller2 votesGood points, maybe my suggestion was a bad idea. Perhaps Riot should instead start keeping a record of champion select events.
For example: Record every instance of matchmaking where a dodge occurs and look for the following factors:
If Player B shows that they frequently do this when faced with this situation, then warn them not to. If they continue to do it then punish them.
IMO it should be really simple to track and identify this. computer programming is very good at identifying patterns of events. It would be even easier if Riot implemented an official role swap function (similar to the champion trade function).
Chermorg1 votesI do think that is possible, and I think you should certainly create a post with an idea for how you think it could be monitored by the automated system. You know as well as I do that Rioters patrol the boards, but they're usually looking for well put together ideas that have very few or no holes in them to respond to.

You can screen shot those and send it to https://support.riotgames.com and have them review it.
Personally, I would just play it out and if they steal the lane, I'll report them after the game.

If they player gives any indication in chat that they banned your champion for nefarious reasons (such as to force you to switch or to dodge) then you have proof in chat and you can report them for it.
CloudedLogic1 votesI never show picking intent until it's my turn to draft anymore. That way if someone dodges I don't have the champ I wanted to play banned next time queue pops, or so my team can't say "Can you play a tanky Top/Support?" immediately after banning my champ.
Since preseason started I have played a lot of top lane, and something I hear a lot is "Can you play a tanky top laner?" Which while sometimes I do so because I am not too worried about winning or losing, I don't always want to play a tank. I have however had people ban Brand in ranked when I was playing support followed by a "We need a tanky support." (Hence the above statement).

OP has stated that these people attempt to steal OP's role. They do so by banning OP's intended pick in the hopes of OP abandoning his/her role.
