Love how strict tribunal is

Never knew I had to behave and act respectfully like I was in school.... While I'm playing a video game. Got banned for calling my teammate and "Autistic Fuck" if people can't handle that type of language they shouldn't even be playing the game. I swear Riot bans people for the dumbest reasons. Me and my friends got into League of Legends because it was a free and fun game to play and mess around with your friends. However that was back then. Not Riot treats the game like its a behavior school. And I will tell not many of my friends play this game like their was back then.

Wait, so do you think that you should only be respectful while in school? If so, you're in for a rude awakening. You are expected to be respectful to others pretty much wherever you go. If you aren't, then you will be punished. Each place will have their own punishments, and here in League the punishment is getting banned.

Also, trust me, calling someone that back in the old days of League would most definitely get you punished.

See, funny story...

The real world expects you to behave decently towards others too.

If I called one of my customers an "autistic fuck" because they were taking too long to decide their order, I would pretty much be fired on the spot by my manager. If I called a random stranger that because they were holding up a line or walked in my way, I'd be looked down on by those who overheard the exchange. The real world expects you to behave yourself, consider this a wakeup call.

Bro, they keep you from calling people terrible shit in school because it's how you're expected to act in the real world, too. If somebody ahead in line at Starbucks is taking too long, you don't call them an "autistic fuck".

It's brutally easy to play this game and never get punished. Unless, of course, you're the kind of person that derives enjoyment by flaming somebody behind the veil of internet anonymity, as you see to be.

You could say Riot told you to kindly fuck off.

You cant go around harassing people and calling them dumb fcks honestly im kinda glad you r banned. One less toxic person.

Reworked Fiora8/26/2016, 8:56:07 PM5 votes

Well if you had have done a bit of studying, that isn't the case at all with League of Legends

  1. You really should respect everybody, especially if they're on your team, you don't have to agree or like them, but for the sake of having a good time and trying your best to win you should at least respect your teammates if nothing else.

  2. If you called anybody irl an autistic fuck in any environment just for making a simple mistake, they wouldn't want you around

  3. Your making yourself look dumb and irrational for calling some random person an autistic fuck and nobody will give you respect for saying something like that.

  4. Most people can handle it, its just annoying and disrupts the game

  5. League ain't really a game you mess around with, especially if your in ranked

  6. Back then you'd probably be given the perma ban

  7. If you don't like how this game makes you respect people than you shouldn't be playing

Sorry but no matter where you go you're expected to act like a mature person. Online is no exception. As for why you got banned, hate speech is not acceptable anywhere period (never has been and never will be either) and will almost always result in either a 2-week ban or a permaban right on the spot. If you want to mess around with your friends then that's fine, but do it in an environment where it's just the lot of you and that's it. If you take that kind of behavior to random strangers then expect to be held accountable for your behavior.

If you're not willing to interact with others in a neutral or positive manner then multiplayer online games are not for you. From Understanding the Tribunal:

1) What's the point of having a language filter if I can get banned for 'adult' language? a) We aren't out to punish players who use adult language; in fact, very few players are ever banned for saying stuff like "f***, I missed that skill shot" or "damn, fing close game!" However, the language filter is not an excuse to verbally abuse someone in the game. When you verbally abuse or harass someone by calling them "fing *****" or "ngger noob", that's when you've crossed the line and will be punished by the Tribunal. I've said this before and I'll say it again, we aren't trying to clean online games of adult language; we're trying to reform or get rid of jerks who like to verbally abuse and harass other players.

From Ulanopo's Knowledge Base:

People who report are simply being oversensitive. The mute button exists for a reason.”

Let’s start with the Riot quote on this (link (http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?p=30696571#post30696571)):

Why is verbal abuse punishable if there is a mute button/language filter? Players shouldn’t need to rely on features like the mute button or language filter to engage with other players in positive ways. When a player verbally abuses another player and forces him to use the mute button, they have already created a negative experience for that player.

Simply put, Riot says no. You can scream and cry all you want, but it is their house and their rules.

With that out of the way, I think the topic deserves some further discussion. The theory is that, if people resolved to care less, then they would be happier. I often refer to this as “Argument from Stoicism” and I think it is a fairly weak philosophy because it places the burden on the person being expected to endure the behavior rather than the person exhibiting the behavior. “You should be able to handle it” is just a flimsy excuse for being a bully or a jerk. I have to be the bigger man so that you can do whatever you want? That hardly seems fair.

There is also the issue of how I spend my limited free time. Like most people, I am constantly required to make value judgments between the different forms of entertainment that are available to me and, let's be honest, we live in an age of nearly limitless entertainment options. If I'm having a bad day in League, I can just fire up Steam and play a whole bunch of games that don't require me to put up with someone's BS.

This is not an issue of weakness or thin-skin; it's a question of choosing activities that don't leave me feeling frustrated and angry. Too many of those experiences and I'll just find something else to do. Riot knows this.

Well I agree with your title 100%, but if you called someone an "autistic fuck" then you probably should be banned. The real issue is that it will ban you for calling a teammate "bad".

Hyperiön8/26/2016, 8:14:19 PM3 votes

Why the hell would you call someone that. There are a lot of people who have family/friends who are Autistic, and it is not a pleasant thing to have. I am glad that you got banned, really hope it was a permanent ban to be honest. That is so awful to say to anyone, even to someone you know. By the way you sound, you sound like a 14 year old rich kid who gets what ever he begs for. Well guess what, the world doesn't work like that junior. Time to start taking responsibility for your actions.

Me and my friends got into League of Legends because it was a free and fun game to play and mess around with your friends.

Okay....

Got banned for calling my teammate and "Autistic Fuck"

Well it's a free game like you said. Why so mad?

if people can't handle that type of language they shouldn't even be playing the game.

If you can't handle that childish angry attitude of yours, YOU shouldn't be.

I'm not being sarcastic when I say I'm glad you got banned. You blame your ban on those that had to witness your poor behavior. Learn to control yourself. If you can't handle that maybe you shouldn't be playing the game or be in any sort of situation where you have to socialize with others.

Do you know what I'd do if I heard someone calling any one of my immediate family members an "autistic fuck"? I'd break their jaw with my bare hands.

One does not simply call another person an "autistic fuck".
