Toxic lobbies and being held hostage for LP

I had a player in the lobby queued as a support. Immediately out of the gate he says, "I'm going adc, no matter what" I was queued as adc and was first pick so I picked cait and he starts flaming everyone. He eventually picked jhin and I knew what this game was going to be like so I was forced to dodge. Excluding all of the slurs and language he was spewing, why is this continuously allowed to happen in a ranked game? I'm getting punished with LP and get to listen to this guy call us names with no repercussion as there is no report button for the lobby.

Attempting to force people out of roles with threats is not something "with no repercussions". It is a large violation and has been explicitly forbidden.

You have the screenshots, send them to Riot Games support. It will get their attention and they can begin an investigation into this but you need to tell them it is happening.

There have been many of us that have sent the screenshots in, but we have little to no proof that riot is actually doing anything about it. Its hard to believe that they are, when you consider stuff like this is becoming a lot more common. It just becomes worse as people figure out that there APPEARS to be NO punishment for pregame behavior.

To the OP: I'm not sure that riot making any kind of announcement would matter either, considering that they have lied about the level of toxicity before.

This is absolutely not true and I challenge you to provide any evidence to back up your claim. I've submitted tons of reports via a support ticket and they always get addressed.

There were no real threats and it is not a serious violation of anything at all. What happened is identical to when 1 toddler wants a toy and refuses to give it to the other toddler, even though it's toddler #2's turn to play with it. Learn to let the immaturity of others be their problem and try to have fun anyway. Otherwise it just looks ridiculous to scream "He threatened me!" and start a whole investigation. Learn to mature a little, and leave these game developers to their work finally. Every day they have to babysit, means less attention they can invest in creating content that comes from their cool ideas.

Also, I find it hard to enjoy a role I dont like and I also find it hard to enjoy a game when I'm being trolled and most likely have an ally feeding or just being greedy the whole time

I do this all the time because its the community that motivate us to do that. We q for our role, we find a match and get our role. someone dodges and next match we don't get our role. Im not looking forward to losing my role just because someone decided to dodge for no reason. Im GOING to adc, kids.

this would all change if he would have gotten support on his first found match, as fill.

It's not that Riot is purposefully "allowing" this to happen. They can't control what people do. The only thing they can do is inflict some kind of punishment after the fact. We live in a world where shitty people exist and no one can predict when they will come along and annoy us. All you can do is report them after the game. There is no magical way of keeping this from happening.

LP doesn't matter. It is just a number, and coveting it means we're actually missing out on the fun gaming experience itself. Don't go after that stuff; it's just a mirage. At the end of the long ladder climb there's nothing - meanwhile if you just play to have fun, every single game can be worth your time. It's a video game so the purpose is to have fun. Competing can be fun too, and getting better.

But if people are actively hating the experience while they struggle to climb and keep on falling down, well then they're actually missing out on the fun.

Climbing can be fun, and it can be fun to earn new badges and such. There's nothing wrong with that.

But, what do people expect is at the top of the ladder? If they made the actual climbing experience that miserable for themselves, do they expect that, only at some unforeseeable point in time, the game will start being fun?

It's like .. a person plays the game for .. years .... just so that they can ... finally begin to have fun playing the game?

Also please do not attempt to translate my words. I have never said that, and don't hold that opinion. I only think that ranked matches should not become such an obsession, that the actual fun of the experience becomes forgotten. Since, what more to the game of LoL is there really besides everything that you can experience in an everyday match? That is the experience, so if a person is missing out on the fun in that, then imo climbing the ladder is not going to get them to have fun at some unforeseeable date.

That's your opinion so please don't speak it like its a cold hard fact. Some people take ranked seriously and I think that's important. Sure i agree that if you're not having fun it's not worth it but some people live different lives and think different things than you. If lp didn't matter and only fun was important than no one would play ranked. It's not me twisting your words it's what you said. People play it their own way, you're defending someone being an asshole and refusing to obey the rules and you complete deconstruct the value and integrity of the game while you're doing it. I don't see logic in any thing you have said except that you're supposed to have fun but that is again an opinion, some people play for much more serious reasons than just to enjoy it. My point is, there's no justification for someone playing that way and when they do you are inevitably effected, no matter how much you shrug your shoulders and dont care about the fact that youre bronze 5 or diamond 2.
