New Punishment for Dodging Champion Select?

Lately when I have been queing up for Ranked or Normals, I have seening a big increase in Dodging. I feel that the 5 mins punishment for sitting through an entire Champ Select is not harsh enough. Especially if you have to sit through multiple Dodges. We all know that Champion Select takes a long time, just think when we get to a 10 ban system. Yikes!

My suggestion would be that the punishment for Dodging be a % Based Time System. Basically the longer you sit in Champ Select, the longer your punishment. If you immediately Dodge once Champ Select starts your punishment would be 3 mins. As you get further in the time goes up.

Champion Select Starts - 3 mins Ban Phase Ends - 6 mins Second Rotation - 8 mins Fourth Rotation - 10 mins Champion Select Ends - 15 mins

What do you guys think? Would love to see if anyone agrees or if it's just me. Also if you have anything to add feel free. Would love some suggestions on how to possibly make it better.

It's currently the most punishing for repeat offenders. I've had to wait over 30 minutes to get into a game because I wanted to queue with a friend of mine who was a frequent dodger. And I think that's fair.

Longest I've had to wait after a dodge was 7 minutes, and I dodge games extremely rarely. For me, typically I dodge if I know I'll have to walk away during the game and don't want to AFK (as an example, I realize I have to go to work in 30 minutes and don't have time for a full game). Typically in these scenarios, no amount of dodge penalty time will affect me because I will be back after it has expired.

It's also true that dodging in ranked costs you some LP. It's only like 3 LP for the first dodge of the day, but it keeps going up I think indefinitely, though I'm not sure. Sometimes, in champ select, I find players that I know to be bad, and others my allies are already bickering before the game begins. If I haven't used my first ranked dodge of the day yet, I will typically dodge these games because our chances of winning are low compared to a normal game. Because why play out a game I think will be a loss no matter what I do and lose 15 LP when I can take a dodge penalty, lose 3, and 5 minutes later be back in queue for another game with a higher chance of success and gaining back 25 LP to replace the 3 I lost?

No. The trolls who are holding people hostage in champ select should be punished, period. I'm sick and tired of people taking advantage of the system. Players are forced to dodge and LOSE LP, while trolls get away scot-free. Not only do they lose LP, they get locked out of queue while trolls continue their malicious behavior.

Totally agree with this statement. Anyone that takes hostage of champ select needs to be dealt with. Whether it be via a new report type for champ select problems or something else.
