A Report System without Repercussions

Hey Summoners, I just wanted to express my frustration with League. I can't get friendly players that I would want to add to my friends list. Recently I have tried to not report players who are toxic or feed just so i won't be placed with more players that are deemed report worthy. I have noticed that after I report a player nothing happens to them. Occasionally I get the "a player has been banned because you helped..." so it does work, however I noticed that once I report someone I get the worst players over the next few games. Like Riot why do you keep placing me with players that are this toxic and just feed or bait you. I played with some friends who are diamond and they couldn't carry the games because the players refuse to want to work as a team or improve. It is one thing to have a bad game, I get it. Bad games happen. Its another thing when they are sooooooooo toxic and refused to win but just want to troll you. I feel like there is no punishment because if you report them almost nothing happens and you just get more trolls since you reported. Is it because my friends list is full that I now get these trolls. Does having no room for friends also mean no room for decent friendly players. I love this game I dedicate a lot of time playing it, I just want the game to be more fun like it was before I got all these toxic adults that act like spoiled children.

Because it is relative. Riot isn't targetting you, but god if it doesn't feel like it right? The reason these players don't get banned by the way is because they don't act that way 24/7 and that is the only ones the system really punishes.

Your experiences are just biased, no, they don't place you with more toxic players after you report someone.

Welcome to every competitive online game that has ever existed :) But imagine the alternative, where communication between people is ruled/filtered harshly by the all powerful company. That's called authoritarianism

The report feature never has, doesn't, and never will have effect on matchmaking. Negativity bias, confirmation bias and the likes however have a huge effect on your own perception.
