Perma Ban Appeal (Was it an Accident?)

So I was playing a ranked match today and I've had a lot of particularly bad games in the past couple days. I've reported several team mates for harassment and toxic behavior because I wasn't playing my best etc. or they were intentionally feeding, things of the like. In my last ranked game I was doing pretty well, our team was looking good, although I made a couple mistakes and ended up falling behind pretty quickly because of a Corki player who dove into several enemies by himself then continued to blame me for my 'trolling.' Other colorful comments were made by this player that required me to mute him for the rest of the game, but I toughed it out and continued to play with my three-man queue partners. The game did not end well for us unfortunately, and I was relieved when I got report feedback stating that the Corki had been penalized, but seconds later I was permanently banned from my League of Legends account. I might have been rude to Corki after being antagonized, but is that really grounds for a permanent ban? I've never had restrictions on this account. I assumed this was a mistake, but if someone from Riot support team could shed some light on this situation I'd really appreciate it and if I was considered offensive and worthy of a ban, please inform me of the reasoning so I can fix my issues and regain my account if at all possible. I also posted a screen shot of my client to show my feedback and permanent ban status. Hope this was a mistake. Everyone has bad games.

While most accounts generally go through multiple steps before reaching a permanent ban, if your behavior is extreme enough it is possible to be escalated straight to a permanent ban without having received any prior punishments. Examples of behavior that could do this are stuff like hate speech, racism, death threats/encouraging suicide, etc.

Now, if you want to, you can post all of your chat logs here and I or someone else could point out what may have caused an escalation to a permanent ban. If you want to contact Riot Support directly, though, then your best bet would be to submit a ticket, if you haven't already. Try to be patient, though, as it may take a few days to get a response. Also, don't bump your ticket unless you absolutely have to, as that will send you to the back of the queue, causing you to wait longer.

The only time they perma without warnings would be hate speech. What does it say in the logs?

To sum it up for you, I was first antagonized by two players and ended up playing extremely well, so I responded by asking the Nasus who "hoped I was nothing like the Cait from his last game," am I like the other Cait? Only jokingly, nothing incredibly toxic or remotely toxic even. After going about 5/1 and showing Nasus how much I wasn't like his last ADC by saying things like "so, Nasus" expecting some little humor and happiness from a player who probably had a bad game. After grouping with my team and playing unfavorably our teams Corki (Top Lane) started to bash and berate me with rude comments, saying I didn't know what I was doing, calling me a 'fing idiot,' saying my cs is horrible when I previously stated my cs was bad because I was 5/1 as Caitlyn within 14 minutes (give or take.) I told Corki I knew my cs was not good and muted him to prevent me from seeing his messages. A little while later Nasus started chiming in too so I continued to mute him as well. After this, the entirety of the chat logs is me giving great suggestions as to how to go about this game so we could turn it back around. I asked my fiddle why he was alone in the jungle engaging (turns out he got caught) and he continued to call me a "ftard." So I said "I didn't see mb." I simply asked him a question. No all caps. I ended the game by saying "f***tard" is kind of harsh. Riot needs to check everyone's logs in my opinion. Not just mine.

Doesn't matter who antagonized who, everyone is held accountable for their own behavior.

Copy and pasta the logs; a biased summary of them does not help the community analyse your permaban.

Welp, you found the hate speech yourself, and you were railing on Corki the whole game. You also asked for reports (only one report is needed to trigger to system).

I realize you said that you muted them, but why are you still typing to/about them? They aren't worth the typing time.

I was talking to my 3-man queue about Corkis behavior, not doing this in private wasn't the best idea. But is a typo really grounds for a permanent ban? Is telling Corki to stop engaging with slight vulgarity really that bad? If I had known I would've kept my comments to myself.

Not to mention I attempted to /r to one of my trio queue partners. You can't see those in logs. Accidents happen.

Yeah I was in that game it was rough playing with that corki, I think Cgnus just had a rough game and snapped, we can maybe forgive him this time, give him a punishment that fit the wrongs but I think a perma ban is waytoo harsh, seeing first real offence lol.

It's in the EULA we get every patch and when we signed up that nobody reads through so...

The only thing left to do is e-mail player support and see what they'll tell you.

If this is the only chat log you were given, I don't know if I personally would say it's worthy of an escalation to a permanent ban. Something I see that definitely could push it to that point is the line asking the Corki if he has downs. Whether or not you intended to say what you meant, I don't know, but this can still be found quite offensive.

Other than that, there is quite a bit of arguing and harassing your teammates, but again, I'm not quite sure if I would personally say it deserves a straight up permanent ban without any prior punishments. If you want to, you could always submit a support ticket asking for another review of your case. However, if you have received a 14 day ban recently, then yes it would be, as the standard punishment after a 14 day ban is a permanent one.

Something to note is that even if you receive 1 or 2 games in the reform card you received, that doesn't necessarily mean that those were the only games that contributed to your punishment. The system is only designed to send you 1-3 of the more recent games, it's not an extensive list of everything that contributed to your punishment. So there could be more games that weren't sent to you that lead to this.

Yeah, submit a ticket, you may get downgraded to a 14 day ban.

If the above quoted is accurate, you will probably/hopefully get it overturned.

I was under the impression you'd been punished before.... I was wrong. Let's hope the draconian system is not draconian in this instance.

That is a lot worse than what I got hit with a ZERO-TO-PERMABAN for.

In my opinion it was justified, given that you have apparently been punished many times prior to this incident. Who knows though, you seem to be moderate, borderline high toxicity rate so it could , maybe, probably not , be a mistake.

The reason only your logs are given to you is because you are only punished for what you said, not what others said. The actions of others doe snot excuse your own. If others are being toxic towards you, then the proper response is to mute/ignore them and report them after the game, if you feel it necessary. If you start being toxic back towards them, all that does is add to the negativity already there, making an already bad situation worse.

Your punishment was done from your action alone. Other's chat logs has absolutely nothing to do with your permaban.

I mean, it was already placed under extra consideration if they manually escalated your ban.

If your last ban was a 14-day one, then this is a natural progression of the ban process. The next punishment after the 14-day is perma.

The game was stressful with a feeding corki that doesn't listen, words got heated, but I don't think perma ban necessary in this case for 1 game hope riot can help u buddy... :(

That seems like an unusual mis-type, to go from thinking "flash down" to typing "do you have downs". Riot has a no tolerance policy with regards to hate-speech to protect it's player base from the sort of people who would snap out something like that in anger. After quite a few years of playing this game, I don't disagree with their policy with regards to that. I wouldn't be in favor of them enforcing permabans for just any infraction of the TOS, but with regards to racial, homophobic and disability slurs, I do agree with having the stricter policy.
