Banned for Repeating What Someone Else Had Messaged Me

Hey, I actually have a couple links for this, so I'm going to post them right here after I'm done explaining what happened. So I hopped onto my account to play some ranked, and I ended up going into my first game against a Viktor. The Viktor wasn't toxic while we were in-game, but after we were in game and had gotten out of the game, he had added me. When he added me, he told me to, "kill yourself %%%%%%" While I did play a little bit of a taunt with him back, because he was being extremely toxic in DMs. When I queued for my next game, I was in the lobby with him and I posted Gyazo Screenshots of the messages that he had sent me. Before the lobby screen ended, he send me another message telling me, "kys you don't deserve human rights." When he sent this, I copy+Pasted it into the chat and said that "This is what he said to me." To show that he had said it and not me. What I didn't expect was for the game to autoflag that I had said "kys" due to copy+pasting it. While in game I also put it in quotations and said that he had said it. He messaged me and said another rude mark I can't remember at the moment. These are the Gyazo Screenshots of what he said to me and what I had said to him. (In order)

I would admit that I was passive aggressive towards the Renekton, however I believe that auto-ban wrongfully flagged me for saying "kys" I'd say that what I said MIGHT warrant a chat mute if it wasn't taken out of context, but it WAS taken out of context. Anyways, I hope that someone from Riot sees this and can answer if this was in fact a just ban or not, when taken will full context. Thanks!

WHY do you need to paste it 4 times + 1 more time in-game? Why does your team need to care? Or did you just saw some opportunity to use that word and you spammed it?

He was smart enough to do it in private and you were dumb enough to paste it in a recorded game FOR NO REASON (it's not even in the same game he said that).

I hope support doesn't revert this ban.

You're not allowed to put that in the chat in general. Period. Regardless of the situation, regardless if someone else said it, or you're quoting it, it is against the zero-tolerance policy. No one has any special privileges or rights of saying "kys" in the game chat in any manner whatsoever.

It's not a wrongful ban, but a consequence on why you should never say that ever.

Yeah, this is a prime example of why zero tolerance policies are stupid. When evaluating behavior context matters. It's probably not possible to program a proper judge, but that's not an excuse, Riot.

Lot of people on their high horse looking down on you in the comments LOL. Bums man, just submit the ticket, tell the story, and like me you’ll get it back no issue. I didn’t have the screen shots you have either, so you oughtta be good.

The system can't tell if you're quoting or not (especially when you're quoting from a different game) so of course it's going to ban you when, as far as it can see, you just told someone to kill themselves four times.

It's against the rules to type things like that, whether you mean it or are quoting someone else or whatever.

Lodge a support ticket with Riot, politely explaining the situation, and if you're lucky they might reduce the punishment for you.

Submit a ticket. I had almost the exact situation happened. A player told me to kill myself in game, put his comment in quotes and said “wow you take this too serious” or something like that. Got a 14 day ban. Submitted the ticket and got everything restored (honor included) within 48 hours.
