Permanently Banned Following A 14-Day Restricted Chat With No Other Warning

I just finished a game and find out my account is now permanently banned. What? I’m so confused. The only moderation I received prior to this permanent ban was a chat restriction. I’ve played LoL long enough to have a UFO Corki on my account. So, clearly this isn’t a problem that occurs multiple times for me. I had a bad game with toxic teammates and got a little angry. I admit that and will take my restricted chat without complaint.

I’ve heard in the past that accounts will be banned for a few days if there is VERY bad behavior on the account. So, how did I suddenly go from restricted chat to a permanent ban?

Edit - It also said to check my email, but there is nothing in my email from Riot. I checked my junk folders to make sure.

Also, I realize I wrote the title wrong. It was not a "14-Day” Restricted Chat. I could’ve swore it was 14 games, but someone else informed me that that probably wasn’t the case according to the tier. I just know that it was a restricted chat ban. I can’t recall if it was 10 or 25 games.

Additional Edit - So, it seems from other threads, the message I’m getting “This account has been permanently suspended. Please check the email address associated with your League of Legends account for additional details”, and then the lack of an actual email, is relating to the account being hacked. I’m confused, but relieved that this is potentially fixable. I've sent a support ticket and am awaiting a response.

Punishments are done in 4 steps;

  • 10 game chat restriction
  • 25 game chat restriction
  • 14 day account ban
  • Permanent account ban

You said you got a "14 day chat restriction", so I can't tell what step you were actually on since that isn't a real punishment tier. I'm going to assume it was a 14 day account ban. You can drop punishment tiers if you show reform after a period of time, but if you get punished again before that it moves to the next step; in this case, a permaban. The severity of the offense is usually less important than the consistency of the behavior.

If you were on just a chat restriction, it's possible to skip tiers by using extremely offensive language, such as hate speech or making death threats or urging to suicide (kys). If you'd share your chat logs we can go over it and see if that's what triggered the ban.

It could have been a 10 game chat restriction, but I thought it was longer. I was kind of guessing since I already finished it, but it was a chat restriction for sure. I wrote it incorrectly at first when I said “14-Day Chat Restriction” I meant games not days.

I did not receive any kind of game ban from playing. It was entirely a chat restriction.

You obviously were toxic enough to enforce this punishment. Just because your teammates were toxic doesn't mean you get to be as a response.

As I said, I accept the chat restriction. I just don’t understand how it was inflated so suddenly with no warning. I still have not received my email about this even though it tells me to check my email for more information when I go to log-in. So, something is clearly going on here.

Until we get your logs then we can't find out how toxic we were so we can't agree with you or say you're correct. I know you don't have the logs right now. However, it is perfectly normal to be banned for extreme toxicity without warning, that's how it works. Someone verbally assaults me say at school, calls me a slur the teacher ain't gonna say "Don't do that" they bringing them straight to the office or wherever.

I don’t disagree with you, but I am 100% certain I didn’t call anyone a racist, homophobic, or sexiest slur. I am extremely against discrimination and never use those kinds of phrases, even when I am extremely angry. I also am 100% sure I didn’t wish death on anyone or threaten someone’s life as that is also something I never do.

As I said in response to someone else, I am pretty sure it was along the lines of getting angry & calling others toxic/trolls, bad players, and refusing to group. I’m sorry for that, which is why I accepted my chat restriction, but I have to call bs on that as perma-ban worthy.

Like I said, when you get our chat logs, we will see, its hard to remember sometimes what you said in one game. It could have been multiple games or just very far past behaviour.

Even multiple games or "very far past behavior” I am certain I didn’t wish death on anyone or use discriminatory phrases. I am objectively against those in my life. So, I’m really not worried about that.

I'd recommend sending in a ticket about this. Unless you repeatedly said kys, a colorful word for gays, a colorful word for cheating wives, and a slogan used by people to address their black friend over and over again, it should not escalate like this. You might have been hacked, and they are trying to keep your account safe- As there are no 14 day chat restricts.

do you have logs? or was the ban for feeding or cheating?

I don’t have logs because it was from a few days ago when I was chat restricted. It wasn’t from feeding.

I don’t even know how I’d go about cheating in LoL to be honest.

what were the logs from the game that got you chat restricted. it's possible the bot gave you one but a rioter reviewed the case and upgraded it to a permaban

I guess the angriest things I said were that my team sucked and that they were all horrendous players, toxic, and trolling me. I also refused to group with them. I realize this is bad and that’s why I accepted my chat restriction without complaint, but you have to admit that this is not only common, but there are many worse offenses.
