Toxicity Punishments

Please, answer my question if you can.

Why is it that you are not able to use a swear word in your profile message for the client, but you are able to do so in game and get banned for doing so ? It makes no sense at all that there is disparity between the two principles, you either allow it or you don't.

I have a chat restriction for mouthing off to some gobby idiots who trolled me hard during a few games and, solely because I swore at them, I was the only one at the receiving end of discipline. If your system is made simply to identify profanity, with no regard for contexts in which the profanity is reciprocal to more tame abuse, then wouldn't it simply make sense to remove all of those words from the game entirely and reject all messages with cursing ?

I don't understand the logic, it's like, hey you can swear but it's really a gamble because someone in the game might not care for your swear words...

I don't ever harass the innocent... but I get easily wound up and I can feel a ban coming my way just because some people pushed my buttons and I reacted with profanity, whereas they poked me with uncensored troll tactics and took a swift opportunity to report me after they got their rise.

Swearing isn't against the rules, per se. Directing it at other players in a toxic context is. There is also no distinction between an "innocent" victim and a "guilty" one; it doesn't matter what they did, they have the same rights you do, you are responsible for your own actions, and there is no situation that releases you from the Terms of Use that you agree to that tells you not to harass other people. "He started it" is a child's excuse. If you aren't a child, don't use it.

I swear all the time and I've never gotten a chat restriction. The reason why you got chat restricted is because you directed your swearing at other players, which is considered toxic behavior. I use swearing for emphasis and I've never been punished for it so it seems they do take context into account.

I drop f bombs all the time. I just restrict them to party chat and it's usually 'f--- this wukong' after he singles me out AGAIN. Or 'f--- Riot balance team' whenever Riven leaves top lane, kills everyone, then goes back to solo pushing. The difference is I'm not directing it at that person where they see it OR being excessive about it. It's not just your language, it's that verbal abuse.

Don't retaliate.

As everyone here as already said. It's not the actual use of the cuss word you use, it's how you are using it that matters.
