League is infuriating, the report system doesn't seem to do anything, getting tilted leads to a ban. I've been trying really hard to not be toxic, but a Lux called me the n word repeatedly, I got frustrated I feel rightfully so, and got permabanned.

MeNoPlayMuch2 votesNo they don't... You can do both and it's still you that would get banned. I just got a 14 day sentence from the ban man for getting reported by feeders in a game they threw. It's a numbers game with the banstick. No logic or thought behind it.

If you are implying that more reports = ban with your "numbers game", you might want to study up on how the report system works first before criticizing it.
I can understand the attraction of scapegoating feeders because it downplay your own toxicity, but at the end of the day, you did break the rules by flaming. It's not the system fault that you gave it something to validate the report against you. What is illogical is allowing players to start flaming whenever he perceived a slights from another player. Feeding, by definition, are not against the rules. It can happens to everyone. Whenever someone win a lane, someone else on the opposite side has to lose the lane, and sometimes losing massively. I see you feed your ass off in some games too. Does that mean it's okay to flame you in those matches? What kind of "logic" or "thought" is that?

Also, for OP's situation and mine, the report sytem didn't do anything. So, yes, I can pretty much say that...
Let me explain to you in case you don't understand the fundamentals of a democratic/vote based system:
Assuming your opposing team stays out of the argument. You have 5 players that can provide a report. Now, follow the simple math here: 1+1= 2 1+1+1=3
When either 1, or 1+1 votes to report/ban someone, and then 1+1+1 counter report, it is IRELEVANT to the ban bot, as to who initiated the argument. I reapeat: IRELEVANT! Read a ban report when you get one. The ban bot TELLS you this. And basically tells you to chill out.
So...if people are in low ELO, the 2 v 3 or 1 v 3 reporting feud is RAMPANT. Majority wins! And circa 20 reports in the same category you get served a ban! You follow this simple explanation?!
I urge you to read the automated report card from the ban bot when you get a 14 day ban...its all about numbers my friend.
Also, in case you're not aware, most ban systems are entropy based. It's the same for Blizzard games. Same thing with your internet service provider, or with people that pirate things online. It's all entropy based... in rare cases you get detailed reports with serious statements if its a major infraction.
You ever play sports? You hear about 2 yellow cards turn into a red card in soccer? You hear about multiple personal fouls throwing you out of a basketball game?
Don't lie to yourself about the ban system when even the developers report card and ban Robot tells you this same thing...

By definition, your statement approves of feeding which curbs the game balance. I agree on "it happens". But you're being obtuse about the reality of the ban system and the situation in mid to low ELO.

By all means yes!!! In that particular game im not contributor, so by definition of game rules, as a team mate you'd be doing better without me in the game. But you missed the point of my statement before. What i said is that I got banned 14 days, because that one game where 60% of the team fed, counter reported and I got up to my 20 reports per the report card. There's much worse games, with much more cacophony from me, that would've made sense. But the ban was issued based on a game where I could prove that the team purposefully grieffed and fed.
No offense to you, but in a 5 man team, when you have 3 feeders and they don't remake, it's not exactly pleasant to deal with.
Kei1431 votesI applaud you for your attempts to understand the system, but the system doesn't work that way.
The system punishes based on consistency x severity, meaning you be punished for 1 game of extreme toxicity or many many games of mild toxicity.
Think of it like a health bar (or tension meter) in music games. When you hit the note at an off beat, your tension meter increases. When you completely miss a note, the meter increases by alot. When you hit the note at good timings, it reduces the meter.
Riot's behavior system works the same way, as in we all have a toxicity meter attached to our accounts. When players are mildly toxic, it goes up a tad. When people use hate speech, it pretty much fills up the meter. of course, clean games reduce the meter. Every individual is also judged independently of each other, as they have different behavioral histories.
Each player that gets reported will be reviewed, there's no counter report canceling things out. But the number of reports a player recieves within the same game doesn't change the result of the review. More reports within the same game doesn't speed up or increase the chances of someone getting punished.
This is also why there is no need to ask for reports, it does nothing than to threaten someone's account and harass them.
Now it is possible for playerA to get punished and playerB not to, even though playerB was waaayyyyy more toxic . Let's say playerA started the game with the toxicity meter at 95% and playerB's at 35%. Ingame, playerB said some pretty nasty shit and playerA responds with some shit as well. After the game, playerA gains 10% toxicity and playerB gains 50%. Now playerA is at 105% toxicity and gets punished, whereas playerB is at 85%, and not punished in that specific game, even though playerB was found to be 5x more toxic than playerA in that game.
Sure, you can still call it a numbers game, but it's a numbers game after the review finds toxicity within the behavior (No toxicity, no punishment regardless of how many reports you recieve) and numbers game over games played, not numbers game within the same game.

Monıka1 votesI agree that the report system seems to not be effective, but if you got banned for being toxic back, that shows that the report system DOES punish players.
Also as a side note, you don't get perma'd for toxic or even racism unless you are a super repeat offender. In your example, you should mute Lux and then report after game. She would get a chat ban for sure even if it was her first offense, and worse if it was a repeat offense.

Because somebody said THE WORD. THE WORD which killed thousands of people and made countless people permanently damaged. THE WORD which destroyed whole countries and erased cultures.
Your frustration is rightful, sadly if you voiced your frustration in the chat, thats also against the rules and you get a punishment for it. Next time when somebody writes the FORBIDDEN TEXT, you should just keep playing, mute them, and report them on the post game screen. They will surely get punished for their ungodly sin.
