Permanently Banned

My account name is Tallwind and I was recently permanently banned from playing League of Legends. I am a very serious player that wants to improve every day and eventually get where I want to be (Diamond). I started playing about a year ago starting from bronze and have climbed the way to high silver. The reason for my ban is "toxicity, unsportsmanlike conduct, extremely inflammatory, and offensive."

The logs: https://pastebin.com/HrBzJGhC

Honestly, I understand to an extent where Riot is coming from, but the fact remains that the system claims to "reform players". Although a chat ban or something like that for a certain amount of games seems reasonable, a permanent ban from the game seems far to great. Correct me if I am wrong, but in the "proof", there is nothing there that states offensive language focusing on other players. The only thing I can find as proof of a perma-ban is "you are bad" to a Kled, that in my defense, was feeding his lane, being more offensive than anyone on our team, including me, and doing everything in his power to ruin a game for 4 other people. The fact that this game was used as proof in my ban is undisputedly and incredibly unfair. What happened in this game after the loss was that he reached out to the enemy team saying "report Tallwind for toxic". In my opinion, I was doing fairly well that game as I was trying to only go for guaranteed picks and sacrificing myself for a Vayne on our team that had a lead. Despite this, our Kled gave up first blood in the first 3 minutes to a Singed, and continued to feed his laner. I said "don't fight Singed". After this Kled went off saying "I don't know how to play versus this champ, I'm dying because I asked for advice and no one gave it to me". This is a prime example of a situation that is extremely frustrating to go through with, especially for players that actually wants to get somewhere and improve myself, rather than just playing for the sake of wasting time. To me, it was obvious Kled did not want to win, and explicitly picked a champion he had no experience with and almost no chance of winning with. I hope some people understand my frustration at this situation.

Another situation occurred when I got autofilled top lane and picked Darius into a Riven one-trick. To say the least, I got utterly destroyed, and gave up numerous kills. The ally Leona came to the conclusion that I was intentionally feeding, and thus, I got reported.

Also, if you read the chat logs, it is obvious that I was fairly toxic in all three games Riot took up to use as proof. But under the circumstances, I believe that it is completely warranted to say "this person is feeding we have to surrender". The people that are truly toxic are the people that go out of their way to ruin games (like Kled), and people that go into games with the intention of making others feel worse about themselves. The difference between those players, and players like me, is that some are trying to get better, but are struggling with pointing out others mistakes, and others are trying to ruin the game for 4, arguably 9 different players.

Some people reading this may view it as another "oh, he is just mad" situation, but I honestly think the system is flawed. Although I believe I should not have been permanently banned, Riot obviously thinks otherwise. I just want to bring attention to the fact that a portion of banned or "toxic" players are just people that take the game more seriously than their teammates or opponents, and as a result point out others mistakes or suggest a surrender to make the grind more efficient.

It would honestly be nice of Riot to see this issue and maybe even unban my account (I can hope right?). Additionally, I understand my faults and aim to fix them as I was in the wrong for saying a couple hurtful things to unknowing teammates, and I apologize to any people I may have hurt. Once again, please do not see this as a post against Riot, but a post that supports players that want to improve and have quite the big mouth.

Whenever a lane does poorly you tend to give up, start calling for reports against them and continue to harass them over it for the rest of the game. Yes people have bad games but continuously harassing them over it is not gonna make them play better-chances are that they'll actually play worse since they're distracted by your flaming them over every mistake that they make.

In the future just try to build them up rather than break them down. Doing that can help improve their morale and their game. Its no guarantee that you'll magically win the game after that but its better than flaming them over every mistake. Also. Dont be so quick to give up if a lane starts doing poorly. If other lanes are doing good then you can still win the game.

{quoted} Honestly, I understand to an extent where Riot is coming from, but the fact remains that the system claims to "reform players."

I don't believe this is a claim of the system, actually. It warns players their behavior is unacceptable, but it leaves the decision to reform and the methods used to do so up to the individual. There is always the option to NOT reform, and that is met with punitive action.

Correct me if I am wrong, but in the "proof", there is nothing there that states offensive language focusing on other players. The only thing I can find as proof of a perma-ban is "you are bad" to a Kled...

Let's check the logs.

Tallwind: bot lane is fucking retarded im reporting

So this alone is really problematic. That's a direct, offensive insult targeted at another player. If this were the only line of negativity in an otherwise glowing chat log I'd still consider reporting you for it, as there's no reason for this.

Tallwind: thanks for spilling over your feeding onto my lane Tallwind: ur both 0/3 Tallwind: sigh always FEEDERS

Tallwind: im done Tallwind: with this team Tallwind: kled doesnt even ping Tallwind: I LOVE TOPS THAT LOSE AND BUILD DMG STILL Tallwind: wanna get carried Tallwind: then dont FEED on top of that

Tallwind: THEN DONT PLAY KLED Tallwind: IF U DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO Tallwind: LIKE HELLO Tallwind: ONE PERSON JUST SOLO THROWED THE ENTIRE GAME K

Tallwind: honestly cancerous too

Tallwind: stupid lee Tallwind: idiot Tallwind: this idiot leona is the reason this game is cancer

Tallwind: ok can u fucking chill one game isnt ur life Tallwind: just calm your hormones and take an l ok?

In general, your chat logs are consistently negative, consistently blaming everyone else, giving up really early, constantly complaining, and generally creating an unfun environment.

While nothing stands out as worth of an IMMEDIATE permenant ban, remember that the ban escalation isn't necessarily for worst action -- it escalates for failure to improve your behavior. You'll get banned FASTER for death threats or hate speech, but you can get banned for just being consistently negative and insulting and not improving your behavior after being punished. It'll just be a slower process, as you won't usually skip punishment steps.

that in my defense, was feeding his lane, being more offensive than anyone on our team, including me, and doing everything in his power to ruin a game for 4 other people.

That's not a defense, unfortunately. He was ruining the game for 4 other people, but remember that you responded by ALSO ruining the game for 4 other people, meaning that the 3 people on your team who WEREN'T you or Kled got hit by twice as much awful behavior. You're judged solely for your own actions and decisions, and you could have chosen to not engage the Kled.

Another situation occurred when I got autofilled top lane and picked Darius into a Riven one-trick. To say the least, I got utterly destroyed, and gave up numerous kills. The ally Leona came to the conclusion that I was intentionally feeding, and thus, I got reported.

And if that were it, sure: you'd have a case. But you also called your Lee Sin an idiot, and your Leona an idiot who makes the game into "cancer."

I believe that it is completely warranted to say "this person is feeding we have to surrender".

The way you phrased it there is, frankly, acceptable. The way you phrased it and harped on it in game while insulting and belittling your teammates is not.

If you do so in a friendly, supportive, helpful, or just POLITE manner all of those behaviors are find: I do them myself. Your chat logs, however, are none of those things.

Taking the game seriously isn't problematic or discouraged. Putting down other players or creating a negative environment IS. The two are not mutually inclusive -- you can do the former in a kind and courteous manner.

That said, even if you DO think someone is feeding, don't mention it in chat -- it's pretty much always unnecessary, and doesn't help anything. If you want to surrender, instead phrase it like "That Darius is kind of out of control, and I'm not sure we can pull through this. Surrender at 20 okay with you guys?" It's friendly and less antagonistic than "Riven fed Darius. Game over. N00b top laner. ff 20."

And, if they don't want to surrender? Man up and play the best game you can. Work on bringing the team together positively. You'd be shocked how many games you can turn around if you can work as a team even if you're behind considerably.

Please post chat logs

In the case of perma bans they result from extreme toxicity or you've climbed the punishment tier 10 char restrict 25 cr 14 day ban perma

Based on other's opinions here is what's wrong with what you've done and why you've been perm banned. Some of this I may not agree with and I feel your pain.

Tallwind: bot lane is fucking retarded im reporting Tallwind: report cait plz Tallwind: this bard is trolling please report this bot lane Tallwind: gg report caitlyn please Tallwind: toxic all game and feeding Tallwind: I LOVE TOPS THAT LOSE AND BUILD DMG STILL Tallwind: report kled plz Tallwind: lmao ur toxic and your bad Tallwind: report kled for toxic and trolling plz Tallwind: im done bro Tallwind: he legit cant games over Tallwind: hes trolling anyway Tallwind: gg report kled Tallwind: honestly cancerous too Tallwind: games over ff at 20 Tallwind: this idiot leona is the reason this game is cancer Tallwind: leona your the reason im tilted so shut up Tallwind: can u guys please report leona shes been toxic all game

Mostly asking to report other players, apparently that's bannable. Calling players retarded is also bannable, along with calling players cancerous. Telling players to shut up is also considered toxic.

PLEASE REMEMBER IM JUST POINTING OUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE WOULD CONSIDER TOXIC, HONESTLY I DON'T BELIEVE IN MOST OF THIS.

TLDR: You got banned for harassment by telling people to report players, and minimal other forms of toxicity like giving up.

Just on overall negative vibe I get from the chat logs It probably was more due to the constant harassment + prior punishments that resulted in this final outcome 4 strike system 1- 10 game chat restrict 2- 25 game cr 3- 14 day ban 4- perma Again if you had prior punishments this is the final outcome from failure to reform
