I just finished playing a ranked game with a teammate that afked. Nothing that I said was toxic, but you banned the account anyway? You seriously believe it's okay for players to afk & ruin games, but telling them that they're wrong for doing so isn't okay? I want to hear your reasoning behind these punishments. I am beyond annoyed with this game at this point. You don't manage the community at all & let trolls & afks ruin games, then punish players for getting upset. Again, nothing said in-game was toxic, but you STILL banned it.

If you would like to discuss if your chat is toxic/not, please post your full unedited chat logs you can find in the client.

Riot punishes people for their own actions. If that person leaves/AFKs frequently, they will be issued appropriate punishments on their account. Similarly, if you are toxic in games, you will be issued appropriate punishments on your account. Each person is judged on their own actions. Others’ actions are not an excuse for your poor behavior.

Upon reviewing your chat logs, you spend most of the game harping on Sona, being negative and bringing the morale of your team down. While you weren’t outright flaming anyone, you literally didn’t say anything positive in the last half of the chat log.

My last one was about 2 months ago, which was actually deserved seeing that I was legitimately toxic in the game that got me the ban. This one yes I did harp on Sona, but that last bit about me not "saying anything positive" is wrong. I had told them that I am sorry that they had to lose a game that could've been won, & that I hope they have better luck in their next game. Hell I even wished good luck to the opposing team in their future matches as well. I don't see how that could be viewed as negative.

Saying “I’m sorry that you all have to lose another game” is fine. The part after that in the same sentence where you call your teammate “childish” is not. That qualifier of “because of one childish teammate” takes away any positivity in the chat there.

This log is full of being passive (and not so passive) aggressive and trying to be positive but still flame/shame your sona. While I get that you were frustrated, the proper way to take care of that issue is to report the Sona after the game - not to make your entire in-game chat about making her feel bad, shaming her, or similar.

You made the intent very clear. Your intent was never to apologize to your team for the loss. Your intent was to continue to flame/shame Sona for their AFKing, while making it appear positive.

I’m not ignoring the positive things that were said in the chat - I’m simply focusing on the negative things. The amount of negativity, report calling, and passive (or not) aggressive attitude towards your teammate is enough to get punished, especially considering you had a 14 day suspension fairly recently.

No, my apology to my team was sincere. We ALL tried our best even with her going afk. Now tell me, how do you somehow KNOW that I "never wanted to apologize to my teammates", hm? I don't bother apologizing if I'm not truly sorry. After dealing with this community & Riot's lack of action against players like this Sona, I truly am sorry when my team has to deal with them.

Sona intentionally ruined a game for 4 other players, & I apologized to my team for the loss that could've possibly been prevented. The apology was sincere & you can't change that fact no matter how hard you try.

I agree he was negative towards sona. However, I don't think that deserves a ban. Negative feelings are natural and expressing them to the people you're with is natural. If the op didn't go too far in his expression, I don't think he did, then I don't think op should've been banned.

I realize this can be considered toxic, but even then it's not so toxic that he should be banned.

Riot does not operate based on a “how toxic is it” mentality. Riot punishes (almost) all toxic behavior on an escalating scale of punishment. People are not permitted to just continue being toxic for all eternity and all they get is chat restrictions.

People are first afforded a chance to reform with a 10 game/25 game chat restriction. Then they get a 14 day suspension, with a clear warning that their next misbehavior will result in a permanent supsension. If people don’t heed the warning, Riot gives them the boot.

Again, Riot does not permit people to just get 10000 chances to stop being toxic. They get chances, yes, but if they keep it up, they will get shown the door.

The main point I'm trying to make here is that the chat logs are legitimately nowhere near toxic. I don't see how expressing the fact that Sona ruined a game that could've been fun & apologizing to the others that had a game ruined is toxic. I genuinely believe that if anyone should've been punished, it would be Sona. She legitimately gave up COMPLETELY after two deaths. That's the behavior that is never punished by Riot Games. I've played with several players like this Sona & reported them. It is very rare that they get punished.

🤣🤣🤣 look now that's not true. The amount of toxicity that comes into and remains in the community is unreal. Although players who continuously type can be annoying, I don't think that they should be differentiated from players who leave only a few nasty comments per game every game. Also I've gotten a straight 14 day ban just off of 1 game. Despite what I said was all banter and I just got reported off of just fucking around, I did flame my ass off for the sake of having fun. Point of saying that was just to disprove having had to have gotten a warning prior to a ban. (Although I would agree with the ban if I wasn't given context)

Yeah but a lot of the things you call toxic are just what you expect to hear in a game. People should be able to tell sona she is screwing up, Sona should get the hint eventually. IF they are not calling names or using abusive language there should be no punishment, the reason why is that in sports people get pumped up and excited, the reason we call this esports....is it does the same thing here. You are trying to make everyone hit mute all and not ever allowing people to react to plays in game...it's way beyond what it should be, you are going too far.

I don't see how Sona would feel bad and how she wouldn't get banned if she was afk (while moving to avoid leaver buster) and even griefed her teams decision of surrendering despite not playing. If anything, I believe that the Sona was intentionally trying to cause the team to have an unfun time

You don't seem to understand the situation, or you intentionally ignored a lot of the posts & replies. I apologized to my teammates over the loss they got that wasn't deserved for them, yes, but I never claimed that was a reason to undo my ban. The whole point of me posting here is for Riot to realize that it's a bit ridiculous to permanently ban an account for "toxic" behavior when they still have yet to punish people that leave games intentionally, or just sit in the fountain to fuck their team over. Sona has guaranteed received no punishment because Riot doesn't care about those players. They only ban "toxic" players. If you'd like a good example of toxicity, go look up "Rat IRL" or "Apocalypse". They're prime examples of toxicity. Compare this case to either of their cases. Enjoy your day.

Oh no I completely understand. However, you'd think Riot would punish afkers like they're supposed to, but they don't. As stated in an earlier post - a player from a while back that played Heimerdinger afked 20+ games in a row. No punishment. Players like this that intentionally fuck over entire teams & don't get punished for it are the reason scenarios like this even pop up. Say whatever you'd like about this situation. Riot refuses to punish anyone other than players they deem "toxic" & they'll kill their game slowly since they want to allow trolls & afkers to keep playing.

Even if they did punish others, it's none of your business. Also there are privacy laws Riot has to obey.

Only thing that matters in your case of punishment is whether you've been toxic and had a history of it, nothing else.

As stated earlier in the post, Riot refuses to ban anyone that afks or trolls since they only seem to think being "toxic" is punishable. They made that quite clear.

The bottom line is that its never okay to be toxic, even when responding to another player's toxicity. If someone else is behaving poorly, you are welcome to mute and report them after the game has ended, but their behavior isn't an excuse to be toxic.

My question is how is this chat worth a 14 day ban when i have been playing for years and this is "offensive or negative? there is way more negative chat than this and I get reported and banned instantly. It is not right that the chat does not record other players. And you can say "mute them" and or be nice to people calling you names and racist stuff but i get banned for this dialogue. Well I know that this ticket won't unban my account but as a person that has dropped $2-4k into my account I may be done with this game forever. Military individual and play 2 games on my day off and first report today gets my account banned for 14 days (game 1). funny how nothing happened to afk vayne or singed. just me. and malza was silver 5solo and bronze 3's and playing w plat/high gold then fed mid as expected tilting our team so they afk'd and i get reported.
