Ridiculous escalation

So I got banned about a month ago for grossly and completely breaking the Summoner's Code. You know those "everyone has bad days" mentions they give? Try a bad month. Try being way too grown up to act like you did and still telling some idiot to kill himself.

That was me. I totally and 100% deserved not a chat restriction but a temporary ban or other severe punishment. Were bad things going on in my life? Sure. Was I drunk every time I played league? Sure. Is that an excuse? Hells no. I had become what I despised. I was one of those worst people. I would be ashamed to have my daughter read that chat. I accepted the punishment wholeheartedly.

Today I got reported by 3-4 people in a game in which I was being actively harassed and trolled, in which I said "I swear to god if you keep sitting in top lane ill just afk" because our jungle was literally just standing there. Not farming. Not playing unconventionally. Just letting me die and sitting there. Was it wrong? Still yes.

I got a 25 game chat restriction. I find this absurd. I had a 10 game chat restriction for being the worrst of the worst. For being actual human scum I got 10 games restricted. For telling this guy I would afk if he kept trolling me (he stopped, I didn't afk) I got 25 games suspended,

How is this fixing behavior? Now in pre-game chat I just tell everyone why I'm restricted to pings. Some insult me. I don't cre. It still restricts how I can help. I've been honored by allies in every game since this restriction - back to normal behavior.

I have no problem with punishments being meted out when deserved. In fact, I think they should be more harsh. I think this automated system is counterproductive.

Your thoughts?

You didn't receive two different punishments because one was worse than the other; you received a higher punishment the second time because you continued to be a negative influence in the game and haven't shown signs of meaningful reform. It's possible that if you continue on this path, these punishments may continue to escalate to perhaps a suspension.

The new system is designed to remove people that are mildly and consistently toxic just as much as people that are extremely offensive. Cut out the mild negativity, or your next punishment will be a 2 week ban (and after that, a permanent one).

When you have a dirty little potty mouth, riot scientists identify and isolate your profile so that they can ascertain whether you can be rehabilitated or not.

It's like this: http://www.criminalwatchdog.com/neighborhood-watch/

We simply cannot allow you to rejoin society. The risk is too great to the community. I am sorry.

I hate the Reddit-style forums because I guarantee no Red will see this post, but will see a dozen posts about nonsense.

Mm... I dunno. I am kinda sorta with you until you start telling me the things you did in game... There's a disconnect between your words and actions. The system is supposed to help you reform by encouraging you to explore other means of communication. You haven't learned your lesson, clearly.

When most people have a problem teammate, they just stay quiet. Have you listened to stories about how most people deal with leavers and feeders? I had a trist just last night who led in champ select with "adc or afk." She was last pick. Top was left for her. She chose trist, and told us she was gonna afk. Everyone stayed calm, tried to plan around it. She came back and went to top lane, and it was fine for a few minutes... until we starting losing, and she started flaming. You know what my team did during that? Nothing. We stayed mostly very quiet. And I reported her at the end.

THAT is what proper behavior looks like, and until you learn to do that, you'll continue to be punished. You ragers act like you are average. You are not. There may often be two ragers in a game, so what are the other three doing? Often, they are quiet. You know why? They don't see a reason to engage with anyone that immature. It never helps, anyway.

Learn some zen. Learn to accept that you can't change other people, no matter how toxic they are. Breathe deep, use the mute button if you need to, and report at the end. THAT is summoner's code.

The new system is terrible then, and that's my feedback.

I'll toe the line because my account is too valuable, but it will have a net negative effect on the games I play.

You don't want to scare your otherwise-good people into not participating when they do finally (after years) make their way into the "system." That's the exact opposite of a good reform plan.
