I am a Foreigner and I got banned for type my own nick name???

I was banned for saying qingchong in the game, but Qingchong is my real nick name. First, I am an Asian, Chinese, and the city I was from is called Chongqing city, in China, all my friend called me qingcong boy(青虫仔/庆重仔), in chinese that means "green bug boy" or "double celebration". I first got that nick name first because I was from Chongqing, secondly, I like bugs, When I used Chinese ping-ying to say hello in game today and used my nick name, for some how, American people called me "racist", later they reported me and Riot banned me for 14 days.

sorry I used q to replace ch, cuz they banned it.

So let me straight this out:

  1. At first, in this country, some White people imitate Chinese words "Ching" and "Chong" to make joke of us, later they realized that it was a bad joke, then felt regret about themselves for doing that joke.
  2. I'm a real user of the language "Ching" and "Chong", now, the same bunch of white people banned my game account because me using my own language. which means I, an Asian, get bad consequence for those white people made bad joke of us?????
  3. So if one day, when white people start to laugh at African people, imitate them to say "Aweh", then they regret and feel guilty, does that means African are not allowed to say "Aweh" or that N word anymore in the future?

I don't get it, I'm so confusing why I can't use some of my own language(Chinese ping-yin) in this country just because other people in this country had made fun of it in the past? I am real disappointing. Try to imagine an English user for California go to foreign country one day, when he said "I am Californian", and Everyone in that country suddenly called him a racist for a wired reason has nothing to do with this person, this Californian would get penalty for saying name of his hometown just because "California" related to a bad joke in that country. I get banned for saying the name of my hometown, I think this is a huge disrespect to my home city and my nickname.

btw, Chongqing is a really amazing city and all u guys should go check out what it really looks like. During WW2 it was the capital of China

Send a ticket to Riot support, they might be able to help you.

Black people or any people are not allowed to use the N-word just so you know.

Apparently riot does consider your nickname a slur as even here on the boards it is censored. The best thing you can do is an appeal to the supports here: https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us

Let them know of your situation and they will help you the best they can.

Keepp this in mind: do no repeat your nickname.

I would recommend sending a ticket in to Player Support, but I will point out that there are basically NO Google results I can find for Chongqing when spelled with a ch instead of a q -- those just get me Wikipedia articles and Urban Dictionary articles about racist language. So it may be that it's an uncommon enough spelling that they didn't consider it an issue.

Any chance you have your chat logs handy? Being able to see the context would be helpful for recommending the course of action to take with Player Support.

I kind of had to laugh at the situation because that's extremely crazy circumstance. If this is for real though you should tell it to Riot support. Hopefully they'll do something for you there. Imo they should reimburse you for the days you couldn't play but that's not likely to happen.

I'll try to explain it to you as a Chinese-American, my friend. c h i n g c h o n g is used in America to mock Chinese people, and people thought you were mocking chinese so they reported you. But they did not know that it is a real place. It's kind of like how there's a place in Africa called NIger, which looks really similar to the slur but it's not. They misunderstood you. They thought they were standing up against racism but it turns out that it was a real chinese name. Ironic.

The correct pinyin is Chongqing though.

How is Chongqing even a slur? The way I've only known Americans to make fun of Chinese people is [filtered].

Typing Chongqing on Bing brought up a city on Wikipedia, so it's real.

You want to talk about innocent words? Looking is to seeing as groping is to touching. And groping has evolved into this word that means sexual harassment. [sg-miss-fortune]

Seems strange a person from Asia connecting to NA servers? Language barrier and a half, communication isn’t really possible at that point in a heavily team reliant game...
