Repeated Hate Speech in League of Legends

I some what frequently run into Hate Speech in League of Legends.

I have personally made many reports through the client as well as taking screen shots and submitting them to Riot through the support "live chat" feature. What's crazy to me is that's only half the problem. The rest of the players will in turn support and defend the offenders, encouraging them to continue. I have a serious lingering doubt that just actions are being taken to solved this problem. I report instantly because I cant stand to see these people in game.

I really don't believe that the people I see saying this in game are doing it for the first time. They are often way to comfortable in chat with it, slipping it in as if its another form of profanity. almost everyone I play with uses "shit, damn, fuck" at will. its fine, in my opinion. You could make the argument "Just Enable Language Filter". I don't feel like I should have to censor my own chat to NOT see these hateful comments. Profanity is not the problem, Hate is. The racist, homophobic, sexist messages I see much to often have to stop.

If it was up to me I would take the following steps. -public information to clarify what is NOT ok to say. Not the words them self but the context. -a public report of accounts permanently banned thus-far. Not the account names, but a quantitative representation to see action. -a 1 time offender chat ban. 2nd offense is permanent ban. -a chat ban for encouraging the behavior. -if all else fails, censor the words of Hate Speech. I do not support censorship, but this is a free to play game for all walks of life, races, and religions. Don't give them the option of spreading filth and hate to an already toxic community.

I don't want to compare it to public executions, but I want fear to strike these people. I want them to seriously think about hitting enter before they do it.

I have almost $1,000 dollars invested into my account and have been playing off and on since season 2. I have good reason to think twice about spreading HATE to this community and I'm confident that these offenders have invested something besides hard drive space and time into this game.

I have 5 screen shots of Hate Speech that I have made reports for, however I chose not to link them.

If riot support decides to reach out to me I'll be more than willing to talk. I want this behavior to end and I'm willing to do what I must. For now, it's one report and screen shot at a time.

I personally will be flamed for being a girl on league. Most of the time people are not defending me but defending the personal flaming me, or joining in on it themselves. the problem i tend to see is the frequency of sexism vs. racism or homophobia. I feel confident in saying roughly 1 of 5 games i see some form of backlash due my name insinuating that I'm a female. I have well over 2,000 hours logged into this game and have seem much more sexism than i have of other hate speech. I think the OP is correctly isolating the problem and the lack of satisfaction from reporting someone. I want someway of knowing that I personally helped the League community a better, more friendly place.

I have played other online games were the toxicity does not come close to League.

Maybe I am missing something, and I realize that the forums are at most 5% of the community (and that is probably gracious). Point is almost no one on here supports people using hate speech or encouraging self harm. The only people who might are usually people who have gotten in trouble for such.

1 report is all that is needed for a game to be reviewed. And usually cases with HS and KYS usually results in a 14 day

You can't censor it. Realistically I've seen the over-censored version, and if you type two words together that equals an offensive word the whole thing is blotted out, like I put on a shirt would recognize the word with no spaces and no N (happens in other games) and block everything. But if you don't over censor it, people use loopholes.

Sometimes the system works, and other times offenders get off without any repercussions. It's a real shame.
