Summoners code is a joke

Nobody even follows it, it just serves there as a reminder of how people should be acting, but the truth is quite different. Everyone rants, flames, says racist things, tries to sound smart while insulting.

My rule is: be nice, don't flame. But when I'm faced with something bad I either just step away from my team, or don't participate.

So has the summoners code just become something out of a fantasy? Because I see noone even trying to hold up to it, disregarding some people that go on forums saying "you should do that, don't do this, I want you to improve yadda yadda", and they're just straight up annoying.

Please focus on improving yourself without feeling the need to tell other people to do so. Because with these "Jesus like" comments you will just annoy people I'm not saying everyone should follow it, I just wonder why it even exists, it serves no purpose.

You complain about people not following the Summoners Code. Do YOU follow it? That is my simple question.

EDIT: Because I'm sure I offended someone, I must apologize. I don't hate religion. I just dislike it for my own reasons.

First off: Please stop bringing religion into this discussion, it has nothing to do with this.

If this was true then you would be lying that you don't flame. Am I saying your lying though? No I'm not, and I have read your post. Its how its worded that is the problem, specifically that quoted part. If everyone did this then everyone would end up being banned.

Racism (as well as homophobic slurs) is taken very seriously by Riot. It will usually result in escalated punishments.

My chat is usually contains things about wards, MIAs, Dragon, Baron, Herald, summoners and ults being down. And I engage in friendly banter between my allies and enemies (without revealing important information).

And if we were to go over the all the points of The Summoner's Code, I'm sure there are times when even players like Sarutobi and I have had our moments where we just want to rage but don't since we know nothing good can come of it. Seriously I've had moments like this before. I just don't type it out because it wouldn't help the team and it would only make for a toxic environment for the other players on my team.

This has nothing to do with religion, it just reminded me of an episode of south park where Kyle sounds like a pretentious jerk by trying to seem all mighty and all knowing..kinda reminded me of you :) You act like the most fair and the smartest person ever, and it is annoying, very annoying. I respect the summoners code, but I don't give it a "law" status, just a normal game. Does COD have a summoners code? No. But people still have a better community there. I know 'cause I've been playing for a very long time. Here the summoners code is just some fictive thing which a very small number follows with no reward or recognition

Just because you see other people following doesn't mean ever single person playing doesn't. I've been following it since I've been playing this game. As well as I see people following it as well. I also see people slip up and at least for me, if it isn't too serious I usually don't report them. But people follow the code.

Out of all the people I've met maybe 20% of them do follow it, the rest are just straightforward toxic. And as I can tell by my -1s here, it's not smart to ask the community about help, they usually make someone else take the blame, if not insult :) I faced even that, so I think the summoners code isn't a law, just a game rule, nothing serious or that brings penalties

No.. It's wrong because MANY follow it... At the very least I follow it.. So saying that no one follows it is by definition WRONG.

And Just because YOU and Your small circle of anecdotal friends follow it, doesnt mean that the majority of the community does. I have watched people say they are first time on a champ and still get told they need to go drink bleach because "ur playing >insert champ here<. You should be destroying them" People are not allowed to learn, not allowed to make mistake, not allowed to give thier team ANYTHING less than a perfect game.

Teammates get jumped by an ambush and die to a 1v4? Team will immediately call to report that player for "intentional feed". People are so eager to report someone else so they can feel a sense of superiority that they look at the enemy team during a losing match and devalue thier efforts by going "You arent beating us, our >insert ally champ< is intentionally feeding, plx report"

So yeah, you follow it, good for you. But the majority of the community looks at the code and just ROFL-copters. It is a joke, the best joke this side of LoL. And sadly, it will never get fixed because No one wants to admit it, address it, and try and find a way to fix it. Why? because they are comfortable when they can play the "im better than u" game

I follow the Summoner's Code, I've never got a punishment so far and accumulated 1700 honors or so (it's probably more) on my profile over the years. I know what's against the rules and I almost always report those that break it. I should re-read it though, I noticed that things did change a bit.

Yeah Its there but no one follows it, Most people treat it like the butt of a joke. Rather than help players, the community rages and flames them for not being perfect with a new champ 5 minutes after release. I have done this. I told people I was new with a particular champ, asked for advice. never got any. Instead all I got were a bunch of people telling me how much I suck with the champ, how the other team needs to report me because I must be "intentional feed" and how I need to go die.

No the summoners code...as much as people would like to believe otherwise, is held like the butt of a joke. It is something laughed off, mocked, ridiculed and ignored. Why? because the whole community is nothing more than arrogant preschoolers who think they are all "god-tier" players, and they are happy to spit on the rest of thier team to prop THEMSELVES up. These players will stab thier teams in the back, then call to report thier "trash teams"

thank you. glad at least someone understands what I am seeing. Everyone only cares about themselves, thier own kills. And the general attitude is "If I help my team, that means...LESS KILLS FOR ME!!!!" That and they seem to think they are god-tier so have the privilage of sitting on a high horse and spitting on everyone they see "below" them. "Oh you are complete garbage, I am Plat 4!" being said as the person plays in a Bronze 4 match with other new players... SMH

Yes not everyone follows it, but there are many more that do. I for one do and have never been warned nor banned since I first started playing during the Season 2 Snowdown Showdown. How? It's because I don't do or say things in-game that I know will get me in trouble. You claim that no one follows the code; if this were true then every single person playing this game would be banned. Since not everyone who plays the game is warned or banned this automatically makes that part of your statement false.

You also claim that everyone "rants, flames, says racist things, tries to sound smart while insulting." Since I assume you mean in the chat, again, this is not true. This goes back to my point from earlier where if everyone really did do these things then everyone would be banned from the game so again, this statement of yours is false.
