(Spectrum Internet went out) Low Priority Queue

So I was playing some games the other night when my Spectrum internet went out in my area. I was in the middle of a ranked game when it went out and was not able to reconnect. I come back today to play and was placed in a lower priority queue. How is this my fault? Can I get this punishment off me? There's no reason we should be punished due to random internet outages.

There's actually no way for Riot to tell a legitimate internet outage from you disconnecting your network or force-quitting League -- all they know is that the signal they were getting from you stopped.

It's for this reason that LeaverBuster can't give out anything worse than a time ban -- it's possible that every DC was entirely out of your control. But it does give punishments for leaving games, because -- again -- it can't tell why, and it would be too easy to simply claim an internet issue whenever you rage-quit a game (not saying you did -- just saying why it can't do that).

Lol reading these responses makes me laugh at how naive people are. My internet had a random outage that was not reported until a few hours later. During that time my modem didn't allow me to connect to the DNS server which meant I had 0 internet access. That meant It was impossible for me to play any matches during my "knowledge of the outage." The report came out a few hours later. Please do not attempt to act high and mighty like you know how things play out. I asked that RIOT would remove my penalty because of something outside my control which I could obviously proof was true through documentation.

The Leaverbuster system has a lot of leeway built into it for this exact reason. Riot doesn't want to punish people for random internet outages.

So, instead of thinking of this as a punishment for your net going down this time, think of it as a punishment for one of the other times you left a game that was given leeway.
