31x Permanently Banned Summoner, Sharing Insight And Ways To "Solve" Toxicity.
Hello summoners. Be warned of the TL;DR, but honestly, I wrote this for people who actually do care about making the game better, and try to understand human psychology and how things can work for the better. My name is Jade, I am 23 years old and I am a mother. I have been permanently banned on 31 different accounts for 'toxicity' (because I used to not shut up to bullies, and because I try to carry by shot-calling and people take it as me "Trying to be better" and take offence when I say stuff like: "can you stop going into their jungle alone with no vision?"). As you can probably imagine, teaching my daughter the right way to do things is what I wish the most. To be kind, to be compassionate, and to be patient with stupid people, which I am still struggling with myself. I am not "toxic", per-say, I don't wish people cancer, I don't assume things about people's lives, I don't use chat just to belittle someone. What I had been doing mostly, was talking back to bullies, trolls and actual toxic players. And it's bad. No, no bueno. Just /fullmute them, being a justiciar, a "batman", a Madre Teresa, will not work in League of Legends. If someone is bullying or being mean, the best and ONLY option is to ignore them entirely. Though, that certainly isn't my way-of, in real life (I like to get straight to the bottom of it and ending it right there and then with facts and truth) in League, or should I say "online", people are much, much more likely to troll you even harder if you feed their "trolling". Like when someone cries in /all chat for getting ganked, you know that jungler is gonna camp them harder, because they're tilting so clearly.
Anyway, I have made it now to level 23 without any restrictions whatsoever. And I don't bother with trolls anymore, it's not worth it really, I'm tired of starting over and losing the stuff I buy with RP to trolls and actual toxic people. I've always complimented good plays and good players, but I've always tried to help people see what they did wrong, you know, for self-improvement, for help... But that is not taken kindly often. Like such:
me- try to look at the map to see if I'm in the lane before you try ganking
stupid person- f*** u kid u so bad i report u
me (previously)- lol? are you retarded? you gank when ur 2 levels below without looking if I'm even in lane and flame me for dying 1v1?
[^ which does, contribute to tilt more... I understand, but it is in me to NOT shut up to WRONG things... I'm a 'fixer'...]
me (now)- lol
[procedes to /fullmute said person]
Same example with a non-stupid-actual-flamer-person:
me- try to look at the map to see if I'm in the lane before you try ganking normal person- yeah srry my bad :/ me- hehe np dw
Simple... So easy to admit to your OWN mistakes and not try to pin them on somebody else just because your sad little ego is hurt... Well, you don't know everything, NO ONE does, NO ONE is perfect. And because I DO admit when I am in the wrong, I am able to evolve, and get to a point of actually being 'better' than you... Than someone who is toxic without thinking about it. Granted, 'flaming back' on a flamer by calling them retarded isn't gonna help, but that is part of the outburst of being face-to-face with such stupidity, arrogance and unability to admit their own mistake. It just tilts me to play with people like that and I used to stop trying hard to play the game after getting a flamer like that in my team, like the fun had been sucked out... So now, I don't do "/fullmute all" when the game starts, but I do it to a specific person if they turn out to be "stupid". I've always known this was the solution, but the spam of pings wasn't cutting it, now Riot implemented ping mute and I feel much better playing. I am able to completely shut people off my mind and focus on carrying them (sadly) instead.
So, my little tale, to let you know who I am (sort of), how I am, and the real reason why I am the most permanently banned person in the world, title that I am not proud of, but I think I might also, be the right person to turn it around. So... I have ideas. I have thoughts about the report system, about permanent bans (and permanent chat restrictions?), about the honor system.
Most people have one thought in their heads and they go through with it no matter what, not giving a damn about what others have to say or considering their ideas, or even just discussing them, don't be most people. If you think something, don't Google for that something, Google for the exact opposite. Educate yourself. Learn, get opinions, feelings. Expand your mind and your knowledge.
I have read in other posts, from other people's opinions some things, which I would like to bring together in my discussion, along with my own thoughts. I think the new honor system is great. It encourages honorable play, keeping cool, etc, with rewards (if not just the calm atmosphere). Whereas if you're not honorable, you don't enjoy the rewards. Simple enough and effective enough. Will it stop toxicity all together? No. Will there ever be a way to stop toxicity completely? No, there will not. People will always be stressed, angry or egoistic about themselves, we're human I guess. Now... I do think one of the best things to stop toxicity (as much as possible) was the old bans where you get chat restricted and have to play a certain ammount of draft games in order to be able to play ranked again. Everyone plays because they like the game, at their own level of enjoyment, and most play to climb the ladder. Being barred from climbing the ladder all together because of their own behavior makes people introspect a little and try to do better in the future, believe me. While still, allowing chat. Sure people are restricted but can use the 5 messages along with one every 5 minutes (is that right? 5 minutes?), but I don't think people should have their accounts permanently banned for writting in chat, especially when there's the mute option available. I understand your POV Riot. To make the SPORT honorable, enjoyable, fun. Like I said myself, it whittles down the fun in me a little when people start being toxic in chat, but because it's better to not reply to them in general, I mute them now. Perhaps all these permanent bans were effective on me in that sense. That, before, I trash-talked them back, got chat restricted, played draft games, but kept trash-talking them back. Now, knowing that if I do trash-talk them back, other than not getting free loot, I can get permanently banned for the 32nd time.
But here's the twist. After I lost my main accounts. I didn't really care as much if I got banned or not. I just kept trash talking, sometimes even not being right, call that being "account-tilted". I did login again on some of my banned accounts, looked at chat-log and shivered. Like, that is not me... I became what I hate the most. No... NO! ENOUGH. It is hard to stay calm and posed, especially when people are being dicks to you on purpose. But we need to remind ourselves the main goal is to have fun, to learn and enjoy ourselves. We cannot control other's actions, but we can remind ourselves of who we are. I am reformed, I believe. Sometimes I have to try hard to not type back to a flamer. I have been going with the: flamer: u so noob lol me: yep. Pretty much disregarding their affirmations. Or like the Pidgeon man from NA, giving people pidgeon facts when they add him just to flame him.
Now... About account-tilt. Yes... I would really, really love to have my 2 main accounts back, and consider that I would do anything to have them back. How about we try to discuss how this would be possible? To work an unban for your banned accounts? 1000 chat restrictions? PERMANENT chat restrictions? An "unhonourable" badge? (<- would probably auto-generate hate towards said person so, no?). x Draft games before playing Ranked again? How about, 500 co-op vs AI games? :D Would be a bit of a torture not gonna lie, but as I said, I would actually play 1000 co op games to unban my mains...
Considering this, let's talk about how it would affect Riot games and other Summoners, so people had their accounts unbanned through a system.

Would it be "allowing 'toxic people' back into the game" ? No. Since people just create new accounts and do what they wish regardless. In that matter, it is probably better for someone to be "toxic" in Gold elo and have their Gold elo peers talk them down a notch and contribute to their muting, then a "toxic person" starting a new account and being toxic towards new people, actually starting to play or learn the game.

Would it be unfair? Why? Since everyone could use the same system. Why, if people are penalized, instead of giving them the death penalty (permant ban), they are allowed to go through a trial, a reform process and eventually a liberation of their account. (consider jail / prison) If someone is willing to play a certain ammount of draft or normal games (call it 500) without being toxic, maybe they are "reformed".
I do believe people should always be given a chance. With a harsh, but not definitive punishment, unless it's serious, like hacking the game, or something. In this sense, as a sport, LoL could also be a school of life, since although being a game/sport, it is made by and to Human beings. Who experience different daily things and experiences every day. Teach them to be better, not to hold their anger and resentment inside. Sometimes people make poor or bare stupid decisions... But, what is truly definitive in life other than death?
Anyways. For fun purposes here are my main champions (considering I've been playing for 5 years).
(PS: "main champions" doesn't mean I play them all like Faker or the best in the world at their role. It means that I know them well and have fun playing them)
