What makes you think that pointing out how much money you spent will change Riot's mind.......?

I think it's less about trying to change Riot's mind, more that people feel a more significant sense of ownership with their accounts once they have spent money on them. It can be a bit unintuitive to not own something you spend money on, so we just have to make sure we educate people on the fact that Riot owns the content, not the account holder.
