How to report somebody outside of the game
A person i played a game with asked to friend me after the game screen and then sent an extremely offensive message to me. how can i report them?

I report people through support. They'll redirect it to the right person/people.
you cant privat chat is your own stuff dont add people if they are idiots in game
Send the screenshots to Riot in a support ticket under the category "I have a question about League of Legends" then "General Questions." They won't tell you the specific outcome, but they will investigate it and take the appropriate action.
Thanks guys this has been very helpful. I reported the player. I don't know if him telling me to "uninstall and immediately die" will be enough to earn any punishment, but i was a bit shocked so hopefully something happens.
I have reported people through the support ticket on the forums and I always attach screenshots if they do something after post-game.
I actually had a similar experience except they had mistaken me for someone else. I was defending them from the troll and then they added me and so I thought they added me because they liked that I stood up to the troll... nope. That person thought I was the troll and went on an epic horrible awful rant and they need to look at the post game chat again.
Surprisingly he still had the post game screen open and then apologized to me but I presume the person went and added the other person and went on a giant rant against them in hopes they couldn't be reported using the in game system.
I still reported him because his behavior was not only completely not called for as I was on his side, but what he said was incredibly inappropriate... and then I blocked him because I didn't want that kind of person on my friends list.
