Honor Update: Losing your Previous Honor Banners

Hello dearest summoners and @riot,

I am really excited about all the new content, changes and updates to the game. However, I am a bit disappointed with a portion of the upcoming honor system... Under the FAQs for the update I found this and I was deeply disheartened.

"What happens to my old honor ribbons?

They're going away because this is a total system overhaul. Think of this like a Galio-level champ rework, just for a system instead.

What about my old Honor points?

Gone too."

You've all been so gracious about including new perks and rewards for the honor system. I LOVE that, but I just wish those of us that have worked so hard to achieve these ribbons AND keep them should get a leg up. One of the reasons I try to stay positive in each of my games is because of my honor badge (yes, I know its a pride thing) but it does it for me. Would you be willing to include a special icon or a leg up for those that have these badges?

I understand its a total overhaul, but I'm just left feeling summoner 3 . Let me know what you all think, maybe I'm just being overly greedy and needy.

Well, m'lady, I believe they said that they'd like for this to be a reset for everyone's accounts. I think this is more for the toxic players than the sportsmanlike players. My theory is that they're trying to dispel some of the stereotypes about League having a toxic community and by doing this, they'll give most players somewhat of a second chance to start over and be honorable.

This is probably also why they want the honor ribbons on your loading screen boarders and in-game honor emotes to be temporary because they'd like for people to consistently strive to attain them by remaining honorable instead of being temporarily "honorable" for a while just to unlock some exclusive skins and then returning to being toxic afterwards.

TL;DR: This isn't about you or other sportsmanlike players. This is about giving the toxic players a chance to redeem themselves while improving the overall image of the League of Legends community.

What about for those who have had them but don't anymore cause people really stopped heavily honoring each other? It wouldn't be fair to give it to only people that have them, so I don't think they need to give out anything to anyone. The new system will come with plenty of new content and has a much better set up.
