My friend recently got a perm ban for this game, any ideas or thoughts on this? Please note that his teammates were bashing on him and constantly being jerks alongside but this doesn't have the context of it sadly since its only on the player that was punished.

It really doesn't matter if this incident is worth a perma-ban specifically. All that matters is if it was worth a punishment.

If yes, then it grabs the next punishment in the line of escalating punishment. That punishment just so happened to be a perma-ban.

I think a lot of people who get punished doesnt under it. But your post is right on the spot. The people getting punished need to know that you are getting permaban because of continuously breaking the rules, in this case being toxic in chat. when you hit all the other tier you are bound to get final punishment! and it doesnt matter how light your chat might be. if you get reported and the reports are legit you will get ban!

it's not just from one incident that your friend got banned but from many that added up. Yes what he said was toxic towards the end and very rude. Regardless of how the other people were, being toxic back is not the right thing to do

Wouldn't it show the games that finalized his punishment for the perm-ban? Usually 3 games?

I don't know since I've never been perma-banned but I think it just shows the last one. He will get a chat restriction, 2 week ban, then perma along with many many warnings before the chat restriction. He had enough warning to change

Last warning I received for my chat restriction was over 6 months ago, longer then I can remember... So no, not everyone is receiving warnings, and I've not even received a single message informing me that someone has reported me within that time either. I was just chat restricted, end of story.

Was he currently under a restriction at all? Or did he finish a restriction and then was just auto-banned instead of being restricted again? Cause I don't like that idea. Riot expects everyone to re-read the summoners code when they change it -when I've read it once why would I read it again, while people are still use to getting away with that sort of chat w/ the old Tribunal system; He never swore there, and depending on what the other guy said I would've let him off. Remember when "Refusing to communicate" was a thing? Now they just tell you to ignore everyone, and hit report...

Anyways, long story short. Depending on whether he knew he was on a recent restriction or not. Yeah he got what he deserved... Getting a restriction means you don't know the rules, so his failure to learn them...

I honestly don't know how that part of things works. I think they do normally put a few logs in. But just from reading this log, it seems like your buddy is quick to flare up, and slow to back down. That's like 100 messages in a game. Assuming it was a 50 minute game (generous for a toxic game - was probably half that), he's writing 2 angry messages per minute.

Did he receive any chat restrictions or temporary bans prior to this?

He was already 14 day ban. This just finished it.

3/10 Definitely on the lower side of deserving it but I can see why they'd report him.

I'd assume he's already had a 2 week ban. It's an escalating punishment system, so if you go through the chat restrictions and suspension without cleaning up your chat, you're going to get banned.

Tell him if he decides to make a new account to just mute people instead of arguing with them. It makes the game less frustrating and won't get you banned.

Given that he got sent to the perma, it was likely that he was at the 14-day ban. So he should have known better by this point.

And no, it doesn't matter how his teammates might have been treating him, he had the option to mute. Being an ass while responding to assholes still means that he was being an ass.
