LeaverBuster's undeserved penalties for Connection issues

Hello, Friends. I'm going to have a brain hemorrhage, since to keep my account I have to spend a couple extra hours spent getting into games because of Lower priority wait times. First stage was reasonable, dodged games for the sake of a toxic player or chat lag where the roles were Thereafter fucked. Had one more match to go and I get into a game, but the champ select stays black. I freak and click all over the screen, Locking Annie by mistake And leaving so My teammates can remake in peace. I get in a riot support chat and I'm able to close the glitched Window and try to come back after the game had ended; when I logged on it was still In progress. We surrender without anyone in-game believing that I was having issues and even after that my penalties were reset 5 matches 20 minutes each When I was just at the end of my other penalties. I don't want to spend the extra hours getting into games or smurf; But I was in a chat with a riot employee the entire time (Won't say who) who kept trying to avoid saying that there was nothing he can do with my penalties, and said that my connection was the root problem I was having . I was frustrated But seeing that the riot staff seemed like they completely overlooked the LeaverBuster's problem with penalizing people with connection issues automatically ( like what an automated system would obviously do ) which isn't really an issue beyond that riot has NO way of going through a review process for people with undeserved penalties. Plus this riot employee admitted that it would be difficult to have such a system without people getting out of deserved penalties by complaining; Which could be an issue IF WE COULDN'T TAKE SCREENSHOTS OR RECORD OUR MATCHES. I really just couldn't get him on my side of reasoning and couldn't bring forth as much as I could in a post such as this .

For the love of god consider what I say Riot - Forty

It isn't that hard to fake a disconnection, so yeah.......

I'm having a bit of trouble following the story about what happened with the champ select. It sounds like you had trouble getting into the match, but your team decided not to remake? Either way, if you continue to leave games, you will end up having more time added to your LeaverBuster penalty. Which means if you had been on your last 10 minute Low Priority Queue match, and had another leave, it would have bumped you to a 20 minute Low Priority Queue.

Whether the problem is because the leaver just doesn't want to stay in the match, or is having connection issues, the result is the same. The leaver is making their team play a match 4v5. The leaver's actions are punishing the rest of their team. And it's not fair to punish them because the leaver has an unstable connection. THEY didn't do anything wrong, nor did THEY ask to have someone on their team abandon the match. To reach the 20 minute LPQ, a player has to have abandoned quite a few matches within a short period of time. That penalty comes after receiving the initial warning pop-up, the 5 minute and the 10 minute LPQ punishments. It means that there is a habit of regularly leaving matches, either due to connection issues or just not wanting to play it out, and thus regularly costing teammates a chance at winning.

To be perfectly honest, it doesn't even really matter if someone is having genuine connection issues. I'm a bit confused as well, as it seems like you are wanting the LeaverBuster system to not penalize players for having connection issues? As said above, any time a player leaves a match it forces their team into a disadvantage, and ruins their gaming experience. It doesn't matter why they left. It doesn't matter if it is a ranked match, or a normal. What does matter is that a player is leaving the game and making it a negative experience for their teammates. Which is why Riot wants to discourage all players from leaving games. They do this by having the LeaverBuster penalties. The penalties are in place to discourage players from rage-quitting matches, as well as to discourage players from playing on unstable connections (i.e. encouraging them to play after they have gotten a more stable connection).

If you make the decision to queue up knowing that there is a potential for an unstable connection, or make the decision to abandon matches because you don't want to deal with the other players, then you need to be responsible enough to accept the consequences of that decision. And because of the history of leaves on your account, that means a 20 minute LPQ at this point. It's not Riot's place to remove the penalties on your account that you have earned.
