This game is so casual, it's such a shame. I literally just debated the future of this game in my last match and the guy didn't agree with me so he reported me and I got perma-banned on the spot. Was I a complete ass-kissing angel? Nah. But was I verbally abusive? Not a chance. Obviously you are saying to yourself that I must be pretty toxic to be at the point of being permabanned in the first place. To that I say: yes, I've had plenty of rage in this game. Should I do it? Probably not. Will I keep answering my own questions? Probably. However, this game is way too strict in my opinion on its banning policy. Chat restrictions have completely prevented me from raging, and yet for some reason it has to turn into perma account bans rather than a permachat ban, which I openly welcome because...

Why isn't the option to disable my chat in the CLIENT, NOT IN-GAME, a thing yet? Pings are more than sufficient in communication in this game. It goes beyond this, though. This games casualness has really turned me off from playing ever again(Bye, we won't miss you.). Am I not speaking the truth here? Am I really this disconnected from the rest of the playerbase? Do you guys not see the issue I have with this game?

This game has become something other than a game. It's like a gross combination of tumblr, call of duty. and club penguin. ----The ban system is bullshit and we all know it. Ignoring someone is more than sufficient in dealing with VERBALLY distracting people. I use it a lot when I'm not in the mood to deal with people. Yet, as said earlier, I was debating a couple people in game about how casual this game has become and they didn't share my opinion. Rather than going our separate ways after a lively debate and agreeing to disagree, they go ahead and report me and I get permabanned on the spot. (Keep in mind the game we were in we were losing beyond salvation, so we were having a discussion to pass the time.) Banning for feeding/afking/etc is a whole different discussion, not a part of this one. ----Riot's latest patches and this preseason specifically has been a big circlejerk for the esports scene and making it more exciting for people WATCHING THE GAME, not the people actually playing it. The snowbally nature of the current version of this game is so defeating that I can't enjoy the game anymore.

People tell me "oh it's more of a team game now, that's how it's supposed to be."

Is it? Is it really? I always draw the comparison to basketball because that is the sport I've played my whole life, and in my opinion, this game could learn a lot from it. Basketball is a team sport, and yet it doesn't have all of the ridiculous issues that this game has that some of the players here have been brainwashed into thinking is "necessary".

The snowballing nature of this game makes me think of it in basketball terms as such: When your team scores, as a reward the basket that you are defending shrinks in diameter so as to make it harder for the other team to come back because "It's less slow and boring this way." But in actuality it's the contrary. Nobody watches a blowout basketball game because we know who is going to win and nobody is interested. But when a game can go either way and is on the line until the very end, our hearts are pounding and we are into the game more than ever.

Why do we punish people even more for giving up a lead in league of legends? Isn't the death timer and gold gained enough? Why do we also now need minions gaining strength(not sure if implemented yet, but is irrelevant at this point.). Dragon giving a game tilting buff. Another buff in rift herald, and all sorts of other nonsense? This game has been over-saturated and in-turn has stripped the magic out of it.

Having gold and map control was enough of an advantage and it left the ability for the other team to make a comeback, but now the winning team gains multiple buffs, stronger lanes, more gold, bigger experience gaps, etc.

TL;DR: I got permabanned and that sucks, but not as much as how casual this game has become socially and competitively. It's time to move past the videogame phase of my life and start competing in the real world where I won't get "banned" for not being a soft tumblr chode like all you nerds. And in return I'll make a lot of money for hookers and coke.

Yes I stooped down to the level of the people that were giving me grief, but still. This is fucking mild. and even if it wasn't mild, being permabanned for what you type into a chat box makes me sick.

Poll choices explanation:

socially- this game has become too casual socially because the game gives HARD BANS for SOFT OFFENSES like raging. Ignore feature is underutilized and permachat bans and disabling of chat all together are not even options.

competitively - the snowbally nature of the game is meant to create exciting gameplay but screws over the players in the process. details in main post.

Read your post.. Mostly agree with everything. Then I read the poll. Didn't understand the options, I just voted for you being a scrub (even though I'm the real scrub).

So basically you're mad that Riot actually punishes people for being verbally abusive jerks to others. Sorry but since you're interacting with real people you are expected to be respectful to them and not be a jerk. If you aren't willing to do that then multiplayer online games aren't for you. If someone is being a jerk then mute and report them. When you retaliate negatively you force your teammates to deal with yet another rager on the team: the original one and now you too as well. Also, it doesn't matter if your chat logs are "mild"-you got permabanned because that was the next step up after a 14-day ban, which was the next step up after a 25-game and 10-game chat restriction respectively.

As for your chat logs, you spend quite allot of time raging at your teammates and yelling at them when they say something that you disagree with. I also find this part a bit humorous as well:

  1. You're the one whose spending a ton of time typing out rage and insults in the chat. That time could have been better spent actually playing the game instead.
  2. You didn't listen to the logic that being a verbally abusive jerk is not okay when you got punished the 3 previous times before. Maybe you're the one that needs to listen to the rules instead of acting like they don't apply to you.

Overall, I would definitely hit punish for this case if it was in the Tribunal. Is it the worst that I've seen? No. Is it still worthy of a punishment? Absolutely. Also, you aren't punished for messing up and/or making a bad call/play; you're punished for being a jerk and intentionally trying to ruin the game experience for everyone else involved. It's not Riot catering to the casual players, it's them listening to the community that says that they don't want jerks of any kind who love to ruin games in the community.

It's a shame that you got permabanned but you had multiple chances to reform and you chose not to do so (i.e. you blew it). The only one that you can blame is yourself.

From the Tribunal FAQ:

What's the point of having a language filter if I can get banned for 'adult' language? We aren't out to punish players who use adult language; in fact, very few players are ever banned for saying stuff like "f***, I missed that skill shot" or "damn, fing close game!" However, the language filter is not an excuse to verbally abuse someone in the game. When you verbally abuse or harass someone by calling them "fing *****" or "ngger noob", that's when you've crossed the line and will be punished by the Tribunal. I've said this before and I'll say it again, we aren't trying to clean online games of adult language; we're trying to reform or get rid of jerks who like to verbally abuse and harass other players.

Why is verbal abuse punishable if there is a mute button/language filter? Players shouldn’t need to rely on features like the mute button or language filter to engage with other players in positive ways. When a player verbally abuses another player and forces him to use the mute button, they have already created a negative experience for that player.

From Understanding the Tribunal:

5) Low skill players should be banned from the game! The Tribunal should only ban Leavers/AFK and intentional feeders, those are the only types of players that really ruin games! a) No. Just no. Jerks ruin games. League of Legends is for everyone whether they are 500 Elo or 2500 Elo. It's not a game for jerks.

I agree that they should chat ban accounts before perma banning the account.. to stop you from talking to people would fix the issue 99.99% of the time.. so why dont they do it.. do they get off from just kicking people out of the game? Its so very rare for people to be banded for afking or intentional feeding yet now that this new broken system is out if you speak your mind what so ever your going to be band. This new system is just as bad as the old tribunal was and from the looks of it its going to get worse, and whats to come? Hopefully a clone of LOL comes out who dosent treat its players like sheep who have to all fallow one set dialog aka a game for grown ups. Im not a fucking 10yr old playing bc my mom just let me use the computer im 25. Yet we get band for these little resins like saying "fuck you" to somebody who just spent all game calling us shit, or just plain disagreeing with somebody. Hopefully the majority of people who get band will all go play the same game. At this rate LOL community will die and and w.e game they decide to play will grow huge. Lets be frank these over strict rules are doing nothing but getting people not rightfully ban'd. Have a bad game get angry 2 week ban. Next time you have a bad game its a perma ban. It no longer matters how bad the offence it no longer matters if you deserve the ban or not all they care about is us talking how they want. Then they throw around the word "reform" please, your not reforming anybody. People are being bullied into not being able to talk at all or speak there minds and only say things like "can you please stop" do that troll who keeps typing "LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL" dying over and over who is now 0-20-0, but if you give him a small peace of your mind such as "hey dick can you just afk or something useful?" boom you now offended the troll who will now report you and now your getting band. Its no longer about what you did or the ranking of what you did its that you did it. Well the guy that just wasted a hour of your time trolling gets off scot free. If anything LOL is promoting trolls by banning the people emotionally attached enough to there game to care, and what happens once all the people that care leave? Well the trolls no longer have anything to troll so then they leave, and that is how LOL in it's self is killing its own player-base. By punishing the people who do care very much about each and every game, and rewording the basically PK'ers who just love to thrive off the anguish of others.
