Hey there,

My friend was recently banned for 1 game without any cr b4 here is the chat log.

I mean its super bullshit to be banned for this ... Like no cr ? 1 game is enough ? Ok i can tell he was cocky and stupid but i can udnerstand trigger word was %%%.. but its out of context how can this be ? this shit is so unfair even i met a lot mroe toxic ppl calling each other names n shit withotu any suspensions ... and this ?

Contact support, and they'll take a look.

You got banned due to the 0 tolerance words, but all you were doing was quoting someone.

For future reference: A single report is just as effective as 9 reports. There is no reason to tell someone you'll report them.

Also, don't repeat what a toxic person writes. The system can't differentiate between you just repeating someone, and you being toxic yourself.

Agree and yes he contacted support and they said its ban cuz of that chat overal not cuz 1 word they said its cuz of spam and sarcasm and all that ... its jsut ... how ?!

Usually that means that here has been a history of this kind of behaviour coming from that account.

I don't really think that's fair if you get banned for just this.

He can ask for a reduction if it is just a matter of him repeating stupid. Only idiots repeat 0 tolerance. Granted he is being honest and hasn't had previous infractions.

people who dont frequent the player behavior boards have no idea how these kind of punishments are done. riot doesnt inform anyone of anything so how would he know?

it is a very tiny % of players who look at the forums. i bet most players dont even know they exist.

By asking still. Even if you don't know the forums exist, you probably at least know reddit does. A quick post about, "Hey, can someone tell me about the punishment system?" would at least get directed somewhere.

I get not everyone knows, as is evident by people still thinking tribunal is a thing. Ignorance is not a good defence though.

Also, people should know by common sense, not to repeat stupid things unless actually reporting.

why should players have to visit reddit or rely on community information rather than riot just putting information out there?

just a simple page on how to avoid getting accidentally banned would clear up a lot. instead its a secret and everyone has to find out the hard way

no i havent and i had no idea there was such a page. and i am a person who uses the boards regularly. i promise you 95+% of the players in the game have no idea either. that is a failure on riots part not on the players.

thats a good point, but i would say most laws are common sense or you can kind of feel what you are doing is questionable.

the way repeating what someone called you can get you banned is not common sense at all.

Sometimes. Did you know in some State's it is illegal to collect rainwater? Some states have some stupid laws on the books. Like in WV, it is Prohibited to whistle underwater. I think it would be stupid to try but wouldn't expect it to actually be against a law.

I was taught don't repeat bad words as a child. Like, in school.

In the Terms of Use, are you to never say anything that zero-tolerance in Riot's service. That means even repeating it or quoting it. Just because you didn't directly say to anyone doesn't mean you get to say it in the chat. Like any other policy when agreed to, you simply just don't disregard it if you want to remain in its service. If you do anything that is against work policy, you get a warning or fired, if you do anything against an event policy, you get removed, fined, or even banned from attending any of the events held by that company. Riot's policy is the exact same. If you disregard their policy, they remove you from their service. They take back the account you privileged to use and they ban it as the TOU implied.

When you started to play this game, have you actually read Terms of Use, from the first to last word? Neither did I.

Speak for yourself, I did. Because I've learned from experience what happens if I don't and this is what happens if you don't. I will always read every ToU for every game. Because I am aware of the consequences if I don't read the ToU and I am not ignorant of the consequences. I truly pay attention to the code of conduct for any game. Especially if I put money into it.

Only you can choose to be ignorant. Like in everyday life, you should ALWAYS be aware of what you're signing and what you're agreeing to.

Every game, even when you were like, 12 years old,you would be patient enough to read a fucking wall of text? xD Sry for dumb question but like, I cannot force myself to believe that some1 was patient enough as a kid, and could actually understand what ToU means, to read it, even do that for every game.

I'm 20 rn and I never read ToU on any game, and I never had issues on any game besides League.

Yea, not every1 has and ability to understand a contract, especially if it's written in a language that's not your mother tongue

Sooo there are plenty of kids from my country who plays League ranging from 12-14 and of course their english isn't very good. As I said earlier, I'm 20 and I will often fuck up my grammar. And you're saying that it's their fault for not learning english long enough to understand a League contract, which is one of the reasons I heard for people not reading ToU. Sorry but you simply cannot blame some kid for not having english as their mother tongue and simply not being able to understand a videogame contract. Imagine if ToU was written in polish, would you take your time to read it, translate it and then understand what you translated?

The majority of all ToU in games if not all, whatever country they're from, has one common thing. It's called common courtesy. English isn't my mother's language, and when I started this game, I used google translate. Because I wanted to be aware of what I am signing, especially if anything comes to legal terms.

But yes, I can blame them for that. Ignorance is a choice. Because regardless of where you're from or where anyone is from, common courtesy isn't a one country thing.

And yes, I would, translate it and take my time to read it from polish. I like I said, I will always know what I am signing and saying "yes I agree" to. Because I had to do that with League of Legends ToU from Japanese 10 years ago while I was still in school.
