SUGGESTION -- New honor system that would TRULY reward positive in-game behavior!

Here's a suggestion to Riot for an awesome honor system that mirrors the current ranking system for game play! What are your thoughts?

HONOR POINTS:

Kind of like LP, award and take away HP (honor points) based on a player's behavior:

  • Receive Honor Points for each honor from a teammate or enemy
  • Lose minor Honor Points if you don't consistently receive honor as much as the average player
  • Lose significant Honor Points for each time you are reported

HONOR RANKS:

This is very similar to normal game play ranks:

  • Create five different honor ranks to mirror the ones used for game play -- Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond
  • Each player will advance/drop in Honor Ranks as they gain/lose Honor Points. (e.g. Someone could be a Gold game play rank but a Silver Honor Rank)
  • Honor Ranks will be visible to everyone in a player's profile and when in queue

TEAM MATCHING BY HONOR:

When setting up a game, each player will have a drop-down allowing them to select a minimum Honor Rank for teammates they will be matched with, up to and including their own Honor Rank:

  • Honor Bronze Options: Bronze
  • Honor Silver Options: Bronze, Silver
  • Honor Gold Options: Bronze, Silver, Gold
  • Honor Platinum Options: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum
  • Honor Diamond Options: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond

BENEFITS OF THIS HONOR SYSTEM:

  • A player's Honor Rank will be visible to everyone, which is incentive to improve -- everyone wants a high Honor Rank! This is even better than a badge!
  • Honorable players will have the option of being teamed up with equally-honorable players (and dishonorable players will have to suffer with other dishonorable teammates, which is incentive to improve their behavior)
  • This system is easy to understand -- everyone already understands the current ranking system for regular game play
  • Other rewards (e.g. chests/keys) can also be awarded to players in high Honor Tiers

This is nothing more than Prisoner's Island in a new guise.

I can just see people abusing reports to keep people from getting "honor points"
