Hello i was Recently Banned For "Toxic" Behavior Yet What I said To me doesnt Look the Slightest bit Of toxic I Know it Wont Be lifted But I just wanted To Get other peoples opinions on the matter

Certain words such as racial/homophobic slurs, encouraging self harm/etc. have been deemed by Riot to have no place in League. This means even repeating something someone else says will result in an instant 14 day ban under the zero tolerance policy.

  1. You don’t know if she got punished or not.

  2. Did she int? Or did she do badly and you flamed her for it?

Actually you do know because the game informs you when the reported get punished as a pat on the back to you.

That does not happen 100% of the time. Only if the game you reported them for was the triggering game for the reform system.

If the game after your game with them is the one that triggers the reform system then you will not get a notification. Only the players in that next game who reported them will receive the notification.

You got banned by an automated system that is designed to detect hate speech. Unfortunately it can't see context. In the future, avoid repeating slurs and hate speech that other people say verbatim or you can be punished.

Idk How the System Works Ive Reported People for worse yet it doesnt ban them at all Yet i Repeat what someone says to me i get banned. Its hard For me to understand That But thanks For Clarifying

The system does not tell you every time that your report results in a ban. Only if the game you reported them for was the triggering game for the reform system.

If the game after your game with them is the one that triggers the reform system then you will not get a notification. Only the players in that next game who reported them will receive the notification.

Just because you aren't notified doesn't mean it didn't happen.

I reported the person who insulted me.for bad language then inting I understand it was wrong for me to repeat that word but it was a rare moment for me to get hostile with another person and i didn't even flame

I can't really say, I'm sorry. But I wasn't able to witness this. I want to give you the benefit of the doubt, but a quote I love dearly keeps me from doing so.

"There are three sides to every story. Your side. Their side. And the truth."

I'm not trying to say what you did was right or wrong, but due to our faulty memories, everyone skews the truth of what happened. Whether they mean to or not. I know it's frustrating and you're feeling victimized. But you can get banned by spamming the report button one too many times for a certain period of time.

Truthfully, I might be a bit old-fashioned, but I will admit I get snappy in speaking as well. I understand how that happens, and usually the one who retaliates is the one who gets caught. I know this isn't probably lifting your spirits, but anything you'd get fired from a job for saying, is probably best to refrain from using in everyday life.

I'm upset I got banned but ima just take it i start college the 25 and I get unbanned the 28 so I was tryna get a few leave games in before then but guess not. I'm just shocked how bad the system is at analyzing the chat and determining who started the conflict I don't flame anyone tbh i always try to defend someone else who's getting flanked for feeding like it happens to everyone. But o suppose my retaliation was to extreme and the suspended me. Why no chat restriction either I would of been fine with that

Well in all actuality, it was through a computer that banned you. A person more than likely hasn't read anything in the chat. And as we all know, computers are pretty dumb when it comes to human and ethical behavior.

Be glad that u didnt get perma banned. My buddy got perma by just saying 1 racial slur ingame without ever being toxic.

Remember, your judged for your own words. If you ever repeat a homophobic slur the system notices it. All you had to do was mute the other person, not try to talk to them.

hey i was banned for 14 days and i had recieved any warning of any kind what so ever. no warning, no chat restriction, nothign just 14 day banned. but people can call me a %%%g nonstop and nothing happens to them

This looks like the automated system triggered because you used a homophobic slur multiple times.

Even when you're just quoting others, using terms like that will get you banned by the automated system.

Occasionally Riot will reverse a ban such as this, but it's highly unlikely due to their zero tolerance policy. In case they are willing to give you a second chance, I'll upvote to hopefully get some Red attention on you, and you can also try submitting a support ticket to Riot:

Just so you know, it's not necessary to repeat what others say, you can just report them after the game. One report counts the same as 9 so you don't even have to ask others to report them. It's better to not feed the troll with any attention, if you do then they will just troll and be toxic even more.

Regardless, you're probably skating on pretty thin ice now. It's better to not even repeat stuff like that when others say it to you. You're going to have to be more careful in the future.

EDIT: Out of curiosity, did you receive a game 2 or game 3 on your reform card?

I've never been penalized for anything idk what I'm looking for in not hiding anything if I get upset o call people various fruits and joke around. also who is Tantram they sound scary

OK, so there were no other games mentioned in reform card? Often times it takes multiple games, although with hate speech it is definitely possible to get punished after only one game.

Riot Tantram is a Rioter who comes on the boards sometimes to respond to posts like this one about being banned. Whenever a player lies to try to gather community support and rage to direct at Riot, Tantram comes in to provide the real chat logs and sometimes hand out harsher bans to them. But he's not all scary, sometimes he steps in and reverses bans if he judges it to be wrongful.

I just found this post. I too was randomly 14-day banned...first offense..but I used the word %%ggot 3 times. I guess that's a no-no, but the guy flaming the other 4 members of the team will play on.

Way to go Riot. I'll think twice before buying skins knowing I'm now 1 report away from a perma ban...because I somehow skipped all the other tiers with over 3 years of not a single mute or ban.

Guarentee this log isnt the only thing that triggered the ban. Ive said stuff like this once every 15/20 or so games when i get triggered over someone being an ass towards me, and it doesnt even give me a chat ban, so Its almost 100% that youre consistantly flaming. Take the 14 day ban as a learning process to reform. If not cya later nerd.

Yes, you were toxic, in a way. You saw others being toxic and decided to retaliate by making it harder for others to play. You could've avoided the whole situation. For more bullshit reasons, it may have been that you got flagged for repeating what others said.
