Is this 14 day ban for real?

Soo i have couple of questions.. since when is 1 game enough to get a 14 day ban? More importantly i really dont feel like this is 14 day ban worthy if it was even for 3 games lol soo. I was literally stunned when i got a message my account got suspended :D cuz i already played couple of games today im not rly toxic and i mostly ignore ppl when they are but this guys trully anoyed me at end of game . I figured the rant at end of game was unnecessary but i didnt flame anyone before that and in the meantime top laner jax was wishing death on everybody including enemy team( i completly ignored him entire game) mid vlad was spamming report,report,report jung noob all game long (meanwhile i was trying to help him itemize but he was clearly a 8yo kid or smth) and bot lane was inviting me into threesome(which i obviously declined at start of game as noted) so wth is this actually? Someone gonna tell me this is 14 day suspension for real? Your opening line of in game chat is a zero tolerance word and it's repeated literally 3 lines later.

Definitely warranted, just watch your account after you get to playing again, after a 2 week it's really thin ice to get a perma, just try to be positive and stay away from hate speech.

I mean yeah, you wouldn't have gotten the 2 week for sure.

And it's really not the same meaning, calling people "gays" can be an issue since it can be considered very othering but it's no where near the same level as the f slur. One is othering the other has been used as a verbal attack for a very long time. If you really think there's no difference then i invite you to go up to a random gay person and call them gay, then call them the other word you used, I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that the reaction will be much much more severe to the f slur.

Well if anything i dont feel bad about it since them guys were inviting me into threesome so to hell with them. I actually googled this and it appears there is a difference which i wasnt aware of but still im stunned cuz it just happened all of a sudden and i play league for some time and iv never had problems like this one.

Perhaps instead of calling them slurs, next time just say no thanks. Slurs aren't conducive to any sort of conversation, especially to people you don't know their comfort levels with the word.

Well if someone told me something like that in person id probably punch em in the face or something so yeah when some1 comes up to me like that il make my feelings known and tell em to get the hell away from me. Altough i do have a prob as i am rather talky ^^ so il guess this wont help me anytime soon but maybe some day meanwhile i guess its time to jump the "League is worst ever fortnite overtook u" bandwagoon XD edit: oh on btw i actually had my own comfort level violated by them so i guess we are all good now not like i care about em or how i hurt their feelings its just that this time i got the worse end of everything. :D

To be completely honest, given your homophobic attitude in this game, and the fact you were making fun of being gay, you would've likely gotten a two week upon manual review no matter what words you used.

Homophobia is not tolerated in League, no matter what words you use to describe it.

Well at the first answer was that i thought they were kiddin or smth when i saw they apparently were not i figured they are goddamn freaks which are random inviting people they dont know to such things in which they actually violated MY comfort zone so i promptly told em to miss me with that gay shit and i would do it again no regrets. Btw that is not just 1 part that is the only part and after that i was rather normal and chatting like rest of them until the abuse and feeding started which at end of game managed to annoy me that much and resulted in that rant at end of game which is actually the only thing i feel bad about in that game as i normally dont do that type of stuff.

So the simple answer here is that yes, this is a deserved band, because the word you used to insult those players is considered hate speech in the form of a homophobic slur.

The longer answer is that use of a different word would have avoided the immediate 14-day ban, but would likely have still earned a punishment. The League community is not one that is okay with the use of the word gay as an insult or negative quality, and nor is it okay with calling other players noobs or saying "bad game" at the end of the game.

I definitely do understand your frustration though, because we've all encountered frustrating in game situations or players who seem like they have no goal in the game other than to lose the game and antagonize us as much as possible in the process. It's really irritating when it happens, and it definitely makes people feel like venting.

The important thing to keep in mind is that the rules apply to all situations. It doesn't matter if someone else insulted you first, someone else is intentionally trying to ruin your game, or you just had the worst day of your life: there are behavioral rules in League that must be followed, and if you do not follow--for ANY reason-- you may face punishment.

My personal recommendation is to find other words to express your irritation or find an out of game outlet for your frustration such as a stress ball, or cursing at the screen.

Okay yea so i guess its a deserved ban even if i didnt start it first i realise that now. About the other stuff u said well its enough to say i read those lines a 1000 times so i really dont have much to add:D Thanks for trying to help either way. :D

Hate speech nets you an instant 14 day ban, or permaban if you've already had a 14 day ban.

When people say "thin ice after a 14-day", they're serious. You can pick up a permaban for milder things than got you the 14-day. I do hope you can avoid that; more players is better.

I have other accounts and i have actually been permabanned twice for excessive trolling so yeah i understand how it goes but i was actually rather trying to be chilled on this acc never flaming occasionally mb when some1 is extremly annoying but this 1 stunned me hard. Guess next thing for me is to make a thread about how the game is worse than ever and such XD

Hate speech gets punished harder, you shouldn't have used homophobic slurs. And using a word that defines a group, such as "gay" when you're obviously talking about something in a negative light isn't much better.

How would you like it if people walked around saying "Wow that's so <insert your name here>" every time someone stepped in dog shit. People feel pretty unwelcome in society when others use their name that way.

Bruh. I wasnt even thinking about what i said to that bot lane nor did they say anything to me... Guess they all just random reported me for verbal abuse and auto system saw the words and classified em as hate speech and banned me after. And about that second thing people can talk whatever they like not like i gonna care bout that, in that game alone jax was wishing cancer and sweared at my mother several times i didnt even bother listening to that. People are so easily offended nowdays jeez.

It wouldn't really matter whether you did it thoughtfully or thoughtlessly, not thinking about it doesn't magically make it okay if you've done something wrong.

And that Jax was an asshole, but other peoples' behavior is no justification for your own. Demonstrating that you aren't bothered by their behavior doesn't put you above the rules that everybody else has to follow too.

Well, there is also the possibility you got suspended for more than 1 games, though they didnt show. But that shouldnt confuse you. You can get a perma-ban for just 1 game. So, 14 days shouldnt be a surprise...
