Leage of legends cultivating a society of @$$holes

Players who are attacked by other players and refuse to take it cannot opt out cannot talk back and are supposed to take it or get banned. Its not enough to want to have a positive enjoyable game. To be positive and encourage team mates during matches and get honor. None of the positives matter when you are confronted by negative @$$holes. The ones who instigate it are the very ones who know exactly how to copy chat logs and report others who are the victims of their verbal attacks. And im sorry you can say mute them but i REFUSE TO CARRY @ZZHATS forward in league.

Im well aware of my part in all this the biggest point is that it is the affect not the cause.

I've read alot of these comments and the harsh reality is you have to damn the team or carry the negative players on your team. We have the honor system. Riot should put in a Negativity system to indicate teammates who are verbally abusive or negative to other team mates to indicate them and ensure they do not gain lp for those matches. There should not be rewards for being pricks. Have each team mate be responsible for 1/4 of the persons LP. no vote or positive vote = LP negative vote = loss of 1/4 LP. 4 negative votes = loss of all LP for match.

it cannot opt out...

Mute button. 100% effective opt-out tool. The fact that you personally refuse to use it does not mean it isn't an effective and valid tool.

mute button is an ineffective tool that still affords the flamers LP from the match.

It's not your job to deny them LP though, as LP is a separate system from the behavioral system. If you want that to be your job, then you are also engaging in toxic behavior and potentially putting your own account at risk. Mute, help your team win, report, and let the system handle them. Don't punish the innocent players on your team because there's one guy being an asshole.

Yeah, toxic chat is solved.

Toxic PLAY is another matter entirely. THAT is completely, insanely, out of hand in this game.

If you win by muting you are supporting there behavior by showing tolerance and have no chat logs in which to report them with. So that is a very poor solution.
scenario 2 : I go into a match mute all mute all pings and hope we win with 0 communication and coordination. this is the only way you dont tolerate negativity at least not knowingly and u possibly win with poor communication.

Thing these younger generations dont seem to get is you dont solve problems by ignoring them or tolerating them. My mis actions as they are are the only actions I have at my disposal. If the world turns a blind eye why not exchange an eye for an eye and make the whole world blind as it wants to be.

Absolutely man. Fucked either way.

I mean, there is balance of course. However no one ever asks, well if the guy taking eyes isn't stopped, won't we all only have one eye eventually? Then.. won't he come for our remaining eye too?

Eye for an eye is to prevent crime with fear. Thats why they used to cut off hands for theft. They can't actually stop all the theft, so they have to use fear and harsh punishments. You take stealing incredibly seriously when you know you could lose a hand for it.

Which is why I've been advocating for large lp losses to trolls and inters instead of chat bans and shit.

Anyone who has been married, knows that the mute button doesn't work. The problem will fester, and eventually explode. This is why the divorce rate is so high, part of the reason, people don't get it.

You want to have mind blowing sex? You're going to have to have some awkward conversations and experience some hard truth. We have a LOT to learn. To be phenomenal at anything, you're going to fucking struggle, so grit your teeth and fucking get it, or don't be awesome. Period... and sometimes your best isn't enough, because someone is just way better. Welcome to life.

Yet, we also need to be reasonable that we're not IN a fucking marriage here. In many games, we're not going to play with these players again. The problem is that we draw a common relationship between all the trolls.

They all give us the same feelings of frustration that the other player did, it feels like the same thing. Which snowballs frustration, which increases shit behavior.

Players feel helpless and frustrated, it has to come out in some way. Breaking keyboards, crying, quitting the game, flaming the fuck out of the mother fuckers that are making you feel like this. LOL

The problem is its not the same person trolling, but they are receiving all of the rage; because they feel like all the other trolls. Plus we don't feel like anything is actually being done to resolve the issue. So more and more extreme things take place in hope for some reaction, that someone will hear, that someone will address the screaming.

Then you someone with no context comes in and bans you for yelling and doesn't actually address the real issue. So they just keep banning people for yelling over and over. They be thinking... these people are nuts. While they are actually fostering the behavior and addressing a symptom.

Worst part of all of it is that there is a ban with out proper review of the situation and when you attempt to contact someone and get answers you get replied to by a bot.

Citation please.

Because you seem to be taking the eye for an eye approach. Which makes you just as bad.

GreedKnight1 votes

I don't know that its expressly the eye for an eye approach so much as an option less approach. I mute fine then i have to stomach pulling someone up in rank with me who's behavior indicates they should not be there. I cannot walk away because i will be punished for leaving . I cannot talk back cause i will be reported for retaliation and they will receive no punishment. its a catch 22.

Talking down to or badly to your team mates is not the way to win the game and riot should install an opt out button for such occasions. mates be damned.

I guess my biggest point is that my comments that maybe not right, are the affect of other comments which were the cause. If a bomb is set off at the base of a dam is it the waters fault that it flows?

AeroWaffle4 votes

A person's behavior has nothing to do with their rank.

Regardless of what you do you're going to have to deal with them in your game. Throwing a tantrum in chat doesn't change that either. Leaving doesn't change that they were in your game. Muting and continuing the game is your best option.

The system is not selective. It punishes poor behavior regardless of it being in retaliation or not. To claim that it would only punish you and not the other person that's also showing poor behavior is silly. If it punishes you and not the other person it only means that you were already in worse standing with the system than them.

GreedKnight1 votes

I don't have to deal with them i am forced to deal with them through the leaver buster. I have to rethink my own short comings for sure in my comments back to them. I have a strong intolerance for intolerant persons who think that negatively talking to their team mates is a way to win matches. You should not win if you divide a team. Maybe in addition to honoring your team mate you can indicate negative players so they get no lp for the match.

AeroWaffle1 votes

Having an intolerance for intolerant people is fine, but yelling at them in chat or forcing the game to lose is not going to change their behavior nor is it actually going to solve anything. They are already causing more loses due to their behavior than they would without it and insulting accomplishes nothing other than increasing the hostility between team members (and getting yourself banned).

Mute them, report them, move on.

Maybe in addition to honoring your team mate you can indicate negative players so they get no lp for the match.

Can be subject to extremely heavy abuse. This would just give another weapon for people to troll with.

Eye for an eye is not bad. Its fair at base. Hes right, we don't need citations, you play the game right?

If anything, that he says he doesn't care if he wins is bad. I understand that though when you have trolls. Its hard to want to try when someone is fucking your efforts.

AeroWaffle2 votes

Eye for an eye is not bad.

Yes it is. Especially when your actions and behavior effects not only the person you're retaliating against, but the other members of your team as well.

Imperial Pandaa1 votes

The system is fair. It doesn't care if you get report by 1 person and someone else gets reported by 5. It will review the game for the report. He aldo has a mute button for those toxic players which seems to be who he is addressing.

Not really. You play to win. Had a recent game where I played Blitz. The Cait sold item at some point for two minutes before undoing and afk farming/pushing dying pretty intentionally at times. We didn't surrender and actually won. Moral went up and down that match, different people starting the vote but never passing the 3v2 point.

GreedKnight1 votes

I have a hard time justifying supporting bad behavior with the end result of a win. We need a negativity initiative where the 4 people on your team have some ability to influence your LP due to your negative behavior.

zPOOPz1 votes

Yeah....I see one asshole in this very thread....

Zombie Gerbil1 votes

So you're saying you're going to be toxic to those who are toxic. By denying them LP will only deny you and everyone else LP. Which means you're only hurting yourself, not the toxic player. The only thing you're proving here is that you're a toxic player whining about other toxic players.
