Harshest comm punishment, still the most toxic game i have ever played

What is going on here? Never have I played an online game where "offensive" chat comms are punished so heavily, but the majority of people are still toxic. Is this some kind of social experiment? Some one explain this to me. Ive played a lot of competitive online games, but never have i been banned for typing in chat, until this game. What is so different about this game compared to others? Why does Riot games come down so harshly on people flaming? Is this really the reason that destroys most peoples game? People typing bad things at you, even when there is a way to mute people. Thoughts?

Thinking about it a little more, i guess it easy easier to identify some one flaming and punish them compared to other things, like intentional feeding, which is a lot harder to differentiate from just having a bad game, so ill give them the benefit of the doubt on that one.

  1. More confined environment: 10 people 2 teams for 30 - 40 minutes, and you cannot just walk away after an argument, you need to work with the people you hate after muting, and they are still harass you by in game actions or straight up feeding, making muting after a flame less useful. (but it still very useful, especially if you sense flaming is about to begin, and mute in advance). PS ping mute was recently added, before that you could still be harassed by ping even if you mute.

  2. Competitive settings with limited solo carry potential. The game is competitive and guarantees 5 people on the losing side. And you have limited outplay potential compared to an FPS game. You cannot carry the whole game if the rest of the team decides to feed (or surrender).

  3. Tilt inducing snowballing. FPS doesn't reduce the damage your bullets do if you die more than you kill, but the League does. It's very hard to comeback after disadvantage, and you have to teamwork with people you probably just flamed.

  4. Veteran player base, where people have expectations of others, beyond what written game rules states. "I understand that you want to play support Singed, but your teammates don't want you to play support singed" type of scenario.

  5. Diverse culture environment, making offensive language filter/auto detection very difficult. (An offensive word in one language is a common word in another language). Many games will prevent you from sending offensive languages, but it doesn't work as well in the league where people can flame in 10 different languages.

Those are why the game is toxic.

The funny thing is that AFK's/DC's are the most toxic thing in the game and all they get is slapped on the wrist.

You can't mute an AFK/DC.

An AFK/DC puts you and your team at a severe disadvantage.

An AFK/DC more than likely is going to cost 4 people RP if they can't remake.

The list goes on and on but RIOT continues to crucify chat and allows these idiots who can't be responsible with their systems to continue to ruin games over and over and over. Who gives a shit if they have to wait 20 minutes to get into another game where they do the same stupid shit? LPQ needs to be treated as harshly as chat and should be more harsh because it's worse. Anyone who can't see that is not a very smart person or has no integrity, meaning money RIOT receives from these idiots with the trash systems ruining games are more important than the actual competition itself.
