Permabanned? I haven't played in years!

I thought the email was a phishing attempt at first, so I changed my password immediately. I then sent a ticket to support regarding this and I am still awaiting a response.

Just to test this I downloaded and installed the client and tried to log on and I am indeed banned it seems. Not that I care entirely too much, as stated previously I have not played in quite some time preferring other games.

So mainly it's a curiosity thing and the fact that that this account is associated with me I need to know if it was accessed by a someone else.

I have searched the forums and it seems at times there has been waves of accidental bans, is this perhaps the case? I've never incurred an infraction nor smaller ban ever, I can't imagine what a permanent ban would require.

Thanks in advance for your reply

EDIT: What I have gathered is that support is lacking; for instance, I just posted this in support and it was deleted and suggested I post here as opposed to just moving the post... I posted in support originally because it is a support issue, a problem with an error... why would I post in player behavior and modification when I insist I did not misbehave. The tone here is all wrong.

Hey Sickmind,

Your account was locked temporarily because we saw suspicious activity on it after a long period of inactivity. Often we see less scrupulous people attempt to gain access to very old accounts which they then sell on the "black market" or use for botting purposes. Since your account was level 6 it seems to me like they intended to turn it into a "bot" and mindlessly play games till 30 before they'll sell it to someone else.

Support will be able to recover the account for you once they reach your ticket.

its because if you put it in help and support a rioter actually has to respond to you. if they make you put it in pb&m they can continue to stonewall you

there has been waves of accidental bans

People can't keep their own login information safe and get banned for other people doing things on their account, or they are cheating and lying about far more often than the ban was an accident. If you simply have not been playing and got banned, it's probably because your information got out (likely a phishing site or poor name/password choices) and your account was compromised.

What I have gathered is that support is lacking

The Help & Support board is for technical issues. If you need help with an account inquiry (such as this) you need to submit a ticket, which you have, and be patient with getting a reply because it can take a few days depending on the backlog. Moderation is physically incapable of moving posts; the boards simply do not currently support that. The reason they wanted you to post in PB&M is because this is where you get insight into why you were banned (though just a ticket is the better course).
