(Idea) An "I have understood my mistakes" button

Hello, after spending some times on the forum, I noticed a lot of post about people being unable to earn free stuff (and reward) after a sanction. So my idea is a double or quit proposition:

I propose to implement a button saying “ I’ll never be toxic again “ BUT, by pressing this button you engage yourself to never be toxic again (any-form of toxic),and if at any time the system find a once of toxic on your game you’ll be punished (a lot) harder. In exchange, by pressing this button your account become eligible to reward. I propose to make this button appears after a certain amount of game without report. Moreover I propose to not warn directly people about this possibility by a pop up in the client (this way people may avoid pressing "yes" without thinking), just make the button pop somewhere on the profil. I think it could be a really good idea for people who truly change and help ban faster those who really deserved and lied to get free stuff.

Above that, i think it could help people to improve themselves by giving them the choice to work for their second chance. (are you SURE you're not toxic anymore ?)

The post have been translated and we're still discussing about it in the original thread, sorry about the mistakes, i'll try my best to answer averyone.

They click "I agree" on the Terms of Use every patch...

I just don't see this happening. People will still be toxic even when if they click/write something. You are basically saying that when you agree to the Terms of Services. Plus it doesn't really help with people who leave games, so why wouldn't anyone think it would work for this type of thing?

I’m joining you a comment made on the French board that I tried to translate (and shortened a bit) (http://boards.euw.leagueoflegends.com/fr/c/comportement-des-invocateurs-fr/LPFXIn5b-idaoe-un-bouton-jai-compris-la-leaon?comment=0004) :

If riot can technically do it, I support this idea, here are some simple reasons : I’m the good guy, here : • The aim of a law is to be respected. The sanction is only here for the law to be respected. In fact, what is truly important is not the sanction but the threat of the sanction which must be strong enough to counterbalance the temptation of violate the law.As long as the threat of the sanction last, it does not jeopardize the law. • It’s for that reason we invented remission. Another way to say « We know you ‘ll not do it again because know you’re respectfull of the law. We don’t have reason to keep you anymore ” Because punition from justice is not about vengeance. It does not serve to venge people, it serve tobe sure the law is and will always be an unfailing autorhity for the people and the guilty. With these 2 things, the idea proposed by OP isn’t that bad. Offering the possibility for someone to say “ I’m ready to respect the law” with, in return, a particular attention from the system (Forgot about report, the first game you do with agressivity even without report hard sanction) and a higly increased sanction, it can give possibility to people to not being punish when they don’t need it anymore.

Here i’m less kind and nice : In my opinion, beyond those considerations about law and punishment, i find this system really funny. Funny from an external point of view. First of all in term of statistics, i wonder how many people will overestimate their capacity to be quiet or the number of people who will challenge the system saying « lel they so stupid » and take an really hard hit back. The QQ “I’m ban for 14 day and now I’m ban def “ with logs full of insult will still be there, but there will be this satisfaction to know the dude accelerated the process of his perma-ban.

Or, people could just listen the first time around. And not get punished again. And not get another chance, which they don't need nor deserve. If they get punished, that is entirely, 100%, absolutely their own fault.

I get that you want a "I will not be toxic" button. But I believe the idea is flawed. There is no instant redemption to being an online jerk. A player doesn't just press a button and instantly stops being toxic, it is a long-term lifestyle change. Redemption is not being toxic ever again. If someone actually was a good boy and not toxic anymore, a button wouldn't change that. Plus, the free rewards are incentives to good behavior. Rewarding toxic players after they got reported multiple times would be counterintuitive and cheapens the incentive. The rewards aren't that good either; it is just a random summoner icon or cosmetic skin, so it is not game-changing.
