Trolling in Champ Select/Pre-Game Lobby with Possible Solution

Event 1: I show Malzahar. The other person I pick at the same time as says, "Uh, I'm going to Malzahar." And picks it even though I showed first. I've thought about a way to fix this, but if the first person to show is the only one able to pick that champion, then you could troll someone who is trying to pick before you. So maybe only the people who have next pick can lock in a choice ahead of time, but then you would be able to troll someone after you who wants to pick. This one is a tricky situation to solve. However, it's happened to me several times, since I like to play Malzahar in the jungle, so people either ban him or pick him first to make me dodge, or play another champion (I've even had to dodge in a promotional series because I figured it would be more unpleasant to play a match for at least 15 min and lose, then just take the loss in series and be able to move on.)

Event 2: (Mentioned above). A player bans Malzahar because they don't want Malzahar jungle. To be fair to me, at the moment I have a 80% win rate on Malzahar in the jungle, but, still, I get people banning or picking Malzahar to keep me from playing him in the jungle. My win rate shouldn't matter anyways. Same situation as above, if the person who shows first can lock in that pick you can still find ways to troll the other player.

Remedy: Even though someone could troll someone by picking a champion before them in either situation you choose to allow a person to lock in a champion, the percentage will still dramatically lower the amount of times it can happen. People will first have to recognize a pick they don't like and try to ban or block it. If the person who shows first is allowed to keep that pick then unless they say, "Hey, don't ban Malzahar" (and don't show in lobby) then it can be banned or picked by your teammate. It seems to be a problem solver, although, I think there is still the rare chance (especially in higher elo when people recognize your champ by your in game name if you are a one trick or famously known for playing one particular champ ie. Tyler1, Sirhcez, Trick2g) where they could ban or pick it before the one being targeted locks in their choice.

Event 3: Another player on my team trolls another player on my team by banning or picking their champ causing them to troll my match and I end up losing the game or needing to dodge and lose LP due to them getting tilted or me being nervous they'll throw the match on purpose because of their chat in the lobby or just me knowing that some people will lose on purpose because their own team banned or picked their champion.

Please let me know if you need more information or if this can be implemented in the upcoming patches. It has been an ongoing problem since I started playing back in Season 4.

While not really on topic, it kidda gives you a perspective of what Riot is thinking.

Alot of these problems you list can be solved with good communication, which of course, rarely happens in soloQ.

I strongly disagree that good communication will resolve this. They don't like my pick. There is no amount of convincing that I can do with someone who refuses to accept my win rate, my name is Malzahar, or my genuine love for playing him in the jungle. Strongly disagree due to experience that good communication will resolve this issue. Most people in champ select who come out saying something like, "Malzahar JG?!?! No you are not picking that, I'm going to ban" have banned or picked my champion or picked something they don't play and would be bad at or just simply play badly on purpose.

So, no, good communication is not the fix at all. Rito please address and change the system.

Malzahar will either be open or banned

Just don't show intent if this is your biggest issue.

He'll be banned less often after the Q/R/Single-Target-Spell-Minion-Aggro nerf anyways

Regardless the issue will be around for someone, so Rito address it. As for not showing, I disagree. I want to play Malzahar and will show I want to play Malzahar. If they ban Malzahar because I didn't show, it's definitely my fault. So, I strongly disagree with your suggestion and put it back in Rito's hands. Please change the system.

It is impossible to create a 100% foolproof system. If the Malz (Or any champion) pick upsets them and they are prevented from trolling one way, they will troll another way. It doesn't even have to be obvious trolling. It could be passive inting. As long as the intent is there, it will happen.

Hypothetically... Would you ask god to solve all your problems or are you going to do something yourself?

I said it wasn't 100% foolproof in my comment. Rito I still say fix your system, and disregard this unreasonable statement or questioning given by the above person. I will also disregard your hypothetical question. This is a game, not real life, and Rito is not god. However, Rito is the maker and sustainer of the game, so again I leave my request to Rito to change the system.

There is no point in saying anything else since you've been "disregarding" everything everyone else has tried to say.

However, from everything that you've said in this thread...

You have no real suggestion to actually solve the problem without giant holes in it

False, the problem is in the system. Rito still needs to fix it. You are wrong on who is the problem in this scenario or anyone else who wants to play something that others don't like or want because of whatever bias. You or anyone else should be allowed to play the champion you want to play. So, again, you are wrong. I still say Rito needs to fix the system. Aside from very small scenarios like Tyler1 getting banned or picked because they know he is highly likely to want to play Draven, they would not be able to know what champ to pick or ban within the second or two it takes you to show your pick. Still lies on Rito to change the system, and you are gravely wrong in your statements. My solution not only solves the problem in a scenario, it solves it in most of the scenarios, so again you are wrong. Rito still needs to fix their system, and I have given them a very good solution.

Running it down mid.

Passive Inting.

Over Taxing your lane.

Taking your buffs.

Leaving you to die in an easy fight.

If people want to troll you.

#They will troll you. Neither you nor I nor even Riot can stop that.

It doesn't matter if Riot puts all the resources into doing whatever it is you want them to do to champion select.

People who want, will do. Especially from behind a monitor.

You need to bring this up in another topic because it has nothing to do with the one I brought up here. You all can try to make up all the excuses you want to try and detract from Rito needing to change the system in respects to what I brought up, but I brought up a solution for the scenario I spoke of, which has nothing to do with what you wrote here. Find another topic or make another topic that reflects what you are speaking about here. However, Rito still needs to fix the issue I brought up in my topic and I gave a reasonable solution that they can and should use.
