Got trolled, and banned for defending myself?

I know some of you are going to say that I must have done SOMETHING horrible to deserve it, but listen to this scenario:

I go into a normal blind pick game, and call "top" as the first word in the chat. No one else types for a few seconds, and no one else even said "top". I pick Pantheon, I lock in, and go to the bathroom. I come back to find the game loaded, and someone on my team with nasus standing near my lane typing "why is pantheon top". To make a long and ugly game short, he, along with one other player on my team spent almost the entire game accusing me of trolling, and instalocking my pick when he "called" top. He goes into all chat with this big made up story about how im trolling and I suck (I had the fewest deaths on my team). The link to the match history for this game is here:

Anyways, he spends all game trying to convince people that I am the bad guy, and he supposedly gets all these people to report me, because at the start of my next game I have a chat ban. I didn't drop any F bombs, I killed myself trying to win, and yet because I dared to defend myself for a totally made up story, I am now being punished. He matched with me the following game as well, and at the end of that one (We won, and I did well), he tells everyone I need to be perma banned for trolling, and to please report me. I get several people agreeing with him wholeheartedly. The match history for THAT game is here: .

I just want to understand, why does someone like this get to get me punished, when he trolled and lied?

You are going to get a lot of indifferent people asking for chat logs, which you should probably post.
Riot has said multiple times in the past, and possibly in their Summoner's Code (although I haven't checked), that retaliation or behavior based off another's behavior is not considered. When analyzing a report, context is not a moving factor and your behavior alone is judged and acted upon. It's your account and your responsibility not to respond to other's behavior in a way that will ruin your own account.

Yup, if you suggest anything is wrong with the system and that you are innocent by any chance, the downvote trolls will do their best to hide any flaws in the system. And yes, you can get punished for even calmly and rationally defending yourself despite not resorting to harassment or profanity. If you get reported a lot, it barely matters if you're innocent or not. Hell, a guy got suspended for playing off-meta Singed support because enough people reported him and blamed him. He even has a good winrate and a respectable ranking. The system is only a small step away from mob justice.

Its your fault for playing normals. In the 200 normals ive played I ALWAYS INSTALOCKED. If you complain about people clicking the lock button, ur retarded.

I've had someone try to take Mid from me on similar fashion (only using Normal Draft, so no possible confusion). I was able to refute them calmly, and was not punished for doing so. Your chat logs (and your general chat history) are what's at play here, not a specific game.

You can't be punished for only 1-2 games.

Did you get banned from the game? If you didn't then it doesn't matter. If you did, report it to Riot. Riot considers what Nasus did to you as a form of harassment which can lead to punishment.

Instalocking is one of the worst things you can do in champ select. Communicate with your team during this time. If the whole team agrees with Nasus, perhaps you are the one at fault here. Unless everybody is stupid, and you're the only bright one. My guess is that you believe your losses are attributed to your teammates too, rather than your performance in game.

Most likely Nasus called it before you even joined the room.

Also got permabanned 3 months ago for replying in kind to trolls. So no - benefit of the doubt, I seriously doubt YOU did anything wrong.

These trolls use corrupt "logic" to defend Riot's bans. "The reason it only has YOUR chat is because YOU are in control of YOUR behavior in chat. You cannot get a punishment for what someone else does."

Defends trolls and encourages them when they know others will defend their actions and them as well. It doesn't address how to get people to own up to their own mistakes. What you do AFTER getting trolled has nothing to do with being inappropriate, that you 'trolled' them as well, and venting the frustration from trying to have a good game but others are intentionally being hell bent on ruining this game for you.

I have the 'added' bonus of having a Chinese ign "TianWangShang". So yeah I also get racists.
