Banning champions we select...?

So I was in champion select and I chose Jinx because I got the ADC position. Another person who was on my team had banned her and it made me so annoyed. Obviously, this happens to all of us at some point, but this is just going way too far.

Can anyone please explain to me how you would ban a champion someone else is playing... Do you not look at who your team is going to be? At all? What even. Like you must be blind if you can't because banning someone who is going to be played is not only stupid, but it's annoying. I think we open our eyes and look at what our team will possibly consist of.

I would do it, but I judge the circumstances individually.

I love using Vayne as an example, so here goes: I dislike Vayne. Strongly. Period. So if I got a ban option, I may ban her regardless.

BUT I would likely ask first. And (depending on the reply)/or do a judgement call based on the person's rank and pick number.

If the one who has declared wanting to play Vayne is far down on the pick list and/or is of a low rank/lacking experience with Vayne, there is a high chance someone on the other team, possibly more skilled, will pick her first.

This is not a risk I'm willing to take, unless we got the communication in place, and a trade has been agreed upon. In which case I'll allow for Vayne to remain open so one with an early pick can secure her.

So yes, while I do take the champion declarations into consideration, it's ultimately the banner's decision. Something the others will also have to accept and respect.

And in the spirit of my above statement, I will now look up your rank, to make up my mind as to how seriously your post is to be taken.

I've done it a couple of times over the last few months. It typically just happens when someone's not paying attention.
