There hasn't been any updates on the player behavior blog in 5 months, which is quite a while considering how frequently it used to update. Will there be any updates or is it basically all automated nowadays? Speaking of which, the Tribunal. Should I just abandon all hope at this point? I read on an EUW board that the delay is due to getting certain automated systems like Leaver Buster implemented worldwide before launching the Tribunal again, but that was a post from a year ago. Rip Tribunal?

Tribunal is still coming (as of 4 months ago), they're just prioritizing developing other things right now.

The blog will probably be updated again, when they have something new to say.

Really? It's the first post that showed up when I searched "tribunal", "within the past year", and "has Rioter comments".

I'm using mobile so it might be different for me D: I couldn't search by date or with rioter comments so the first 10 posts gave me nothing recent at all

They took tribunal down over a year ago and promised it would only be gone briefly while they reworked a couple of things. If they've gone over a year without it and haven't felt the pressure to bring it back by now, it's gone.

I thought tribunal was a fantastic idea. Apparently RIOT disagreed. It's gone, it's not coming back. Every now and then they vaguely wave their hands at it to shoo away the players who complain "You promised this wasn't a permanent change" but the fact is I doubt they ever had any real intention of keeping it.

It's sad really, but that's RIOT.

Well the reason why I'm confused is because in that time they've still mentioned the Tribunal in updates from time to time. Why re-mention if the ultimate decision is to let it fade away yknow? It has been a while since its last mention, but I imagine fixing solo Q has been taking priority lately. Either that or I'm just obnoxiously optimistic and I miss the Tribunal way too much.

Riot refer to the whole player driven punishment system as the tribunal. What we call the tribunal is actually just a part of it, player voting.

The tribunal was actually not very good. I think it was more harsh than the current system. Not to mention the massive backlog that it had.

IIRC, At the time it was also the primary means of judgement outside of judgments directly from Riot. Fortunately we have the new automated system. The less harsh nature of which just happens to be a good match for passing only the perma's(and maybe 14 day bans) off to the Tribunal for. Which will create a significantly smaller load for the Tribunal to handle, while bringing cases appropriate for the Tribunal's harshness.
