Why does this board exsist?

Just curious. Edit: I read the thing next to Jayce. But these conversations seem like they should be held with riot support. Or are there actually that many people who get perma banned that they can not realistically hold a one v one text chat with all of them?

Most players just need a little bit of general information about the game and the punishment systems, they don't need to have a one-on-one with Player Support to get that; most players that need help aren't permabanned, they are wanting to voice suggestions or concerns about the player behavior systems or the behavior of other players, and there are many other players educated enough about it to talk to them or players that have the same questions and want to have a discussion about it.

The board is not where you come to actually contest a punishment, it's just where you come to talk about these things with fellow players.

Hello again fellow Nuclear Submarine! (I will not assume gender with sir or ma'am; because this is more fun.)

While obviously I am unable to speak for Riot, I do have a theory to answer you proposed question. I believe it is for two parts.

First! Riot Support would be an authoritative figure in this case. Not everyone will listen and consider what is said from such figures. So by having this subsection, ideally you can get other "common" player feedback. Sadly, I think thus part struggles because we do have a diverse crowd for that input. Us as an example (hope you don't mind being included). You don't believe chat should ever be able to lead to a ban (or a perm ban at least). [I may disagree, but I will still respect your opinion] I believe it should if it continues to be a consistent problem. Just as getting consistent speeding tickets may lead to jail time (may vary state to state). [You may disagree, but hopefully still respect my opinion.] Not everyone is as reasonable though.

Second! It kind of goes back to the first point. They hope fellow players can explain what is "wrong" with the behavior. It doesn't do as bad as the first as even those who dislike or hate it can usually identify the problem.

What do you think about my theory Apache Helicopter?

So that everyone who isn't banned or chat restricted can shit all over and harass "toxic" players.

This board is more like getting a group of people who are in the same community as them to speak on the topic of in-game behavior. Generally asking for opinions of others of the subject of other or their attitudes. The majority of players that do come here mostly looks for solace for their penalty or generally asking if they deserve it. Also, this board can show you what attitudes you can take into games. Learning what to do and what not to do. Knowing the boundaries and learning the ropes of what could lead to a penalty. Also learning how many penalties there are, what players could do to bait you into getting a penalty, or generally learning how to act when/if a player trolls you. Knowing the situation and how many players before you handled it. Or players come here to see how many players do get a penalty from Riot's system and how often.

This board, as any board, gives you information on the topic. You can learn, see, give advice, or simply give out your opinions. A lot of players don't understand, ignores, or simply not aware of the Terms of Use rules. A lot of players comes here looking for support hoping they can gain some sort of protest for their penalty and hoping Riot will lift it if they get enough support. Players do come here because they're looking for a quick answer since Riot Support takes awhile to respond.

This board exists for many reasons I may not have named. But the majority of what I've mentioned is what I've witnessed and learned since I've been here.
