Unpopular Opinion:Ban system does not reform most of the players

Here I am,after my 6th permaban and probably the last time I played this game.

Been playing since s1 quite normal ever since not toxic nor friendly either but the type of guy you would rather have on your team rather than the enemy one.I have had quite many bans in both European servers (Eune/Euw) over the course of these years with the first one taking place in the start of season 6,so here I am to express my opinion on how the game's banning system affects my behavior.First permanent ban was my first ever account with a huge amount of money/time/effort in it.That made me feel so destructed when I logged onto my account and got that "Permanently Banned" messsage.Had quite a talk with Riot Support trying to sort things out looking into ways to revoke the ban with a promise to actually reform. That never worked to be honest so I moved over to my 2nd account(Was having 3 accs since s1).That account had only a couple of Euros in it but the first ban really made me think that I really must be doing something wrong to get Permanently Restricted from using my account.Moving over to it got it banned instantly 14 days for legitimately having a really bad game where many things went wrong(High ping-mouse with batteries running out) so I ended up with a score of 1-12 if memory serves me well. After talk again with Riot Support where I provided evidence of the things that handicapped my gameplay at that game they still weren't convinced enough. That completely changed my thoughts on the ban system, going from thinking that I am actually the problem to thinking that it is actually not made in a right way. After the 14days ban was off played quite some until I got a permanent ban due to a game where I was duoing with a friend of mine and we came against one of our friends so we started talking Greek in all chat.We did not flame/harass anyone but apparently we got reported so all 3 of us got some kind of ban either that was permanent for me or a chat restrict for my friends.Riot support once AGAIN was not really helpful. That was the time of my life where I decided to take a 3 month break from the game and sit back trying to think what was going so wrong.Coming back onto my 3rd account made me feel completely disappointed with the game meaning riot support/ban system so from that point and on I wasn't really caring at all.3rd account permanently banned and that was breaking point for me. YES the 2 chat restricts and 14 days were well worth cause I was being a dick most of the times.Altough once again last ban for that account wasn't a deserved one.Lost two relatives in real life in a matter of less than 10 days.Cause of those loses my grandma was in the hospital for quite some time having heart issues.I came back wanting to play some to get my mind off those things.Came against a lovely duo wishing cancer to our families etc so I just broke down. After game I went to Riot Support to initially apologise for my breakdown and moreover provide them once again with the reasoning of my stupid behavior.Got the typical bot replies which then drove me furious. The next 3 bans were all of them TRULY DESERVED as the system made me not wanna care about it at all. To sum it up,all I wanna say is that the ban system needs to be remade from start.First of all giving people the ability to revoke their bans if the case seems well worth it and moreover especially for permanent bans do not give copy-paste replies.People that get banned get triggered way more easily when the system is like "Hey IDGAF about you".Moreover I would like to thank the game makers for the endless lonely nights I would spend playing their game which would make nights less boring.Last but not least, wishing you all a great night and be safe whatever you do!

The punishment/ban system is designed to prompt you to realize the issues with your actions and find a resolution that works for you. Riot cannot (and should not, in my personal opinion) be responsible for actively finding ways to change your behavior, as these techniques can vary from person to person as far as what is or would be effective.

It's a punishment system that can recognize reform and encourages it by returning rewards. It is NOT a system that takes steps to actively reform individuals who aren't willing to do so on their own.

I'm going to take the opposite tack here and say that it's not Riot's job to do anything other than provide a sane environment for gameplay to happen. Anything that interrupts that is an issue.

People spouting off because they lack the maturity to not type garbage into the chat box is Riot's problem only inasmuch as it causes people to lose games. If people can't abide by some (rather sane) rules of behavior, they need to play a different game. If 4 chances isn't enough, the permaban is a gentle tap on the shoulder that says "come back once you've grown up a bit".

I think there is some confusion here. There are 3 punishment tiers, perm ban isn't a tier, it is meant to be the finale.

Step 1-3 are supposed to show you that you need to reform your behavior, the last step is to say you aren't welcome here anymore.

It seems like you are treating each punishment on each account as a tier. So your statement of after my 3rd perm I got worse doesn't make sense.

At your first perm Riot said, we don't want you here. The punishment system is to show you that your actions aren't keeping with what Riot wants in their community.

After your first punishment the expectation is that you will examine your actions and attempt to correct those that do not fit the community standard.

Didn't read most of it, but 6 permabans is insane. [Personal attack removed - Ulanopo] The ban system is definitely enough to reform players, I got hit with a 14 day back in June and it scared the shit out of me, I don't want to lose my account

the purpose of the ban system is to remove the toxic players from the playerbase. riot has said they want these players to leave and never come back. the problem is that 99% of them do make a new account and keep playing

The run-on sentence with no paragraph. But ok.
