Focus on your own play

We've all seen it right, "Bruh, this Nami can't land a wave. Go back to bots dood." "Ohmygawsh, y is Kai building AP???" "GG man, Anivia is just going to feed all game..."

Literally dozens of games where the chat looks like this. But fun fact, this does not help your team win.

Encourage your teammate on how to do better, or say "hey, maybe don't go in without me next time", "lawl maybe 1v5 isn't so great xD", but it doesn't help anyone to be putting someone down so you can feel better about the fact that you aren't good enough to carry that game. (shots fired)

Simply put, the most important and game changing thing you can do is to focus on your own play. Any game I am playing where the chat looks like constant beratement I will tell them to please stop typing and focus on their own play and we typically can pull out a win.

I would challenge anyone to present to me a time when they were able to turn a game around by flaming their teammate?

Many people start off with encouragement. And tilt to negative comments, I know it happens to me. I'll be like "no worries we got this" than I'll say nothing and be laughing to mask pain irl. Than I tilt, it sucks but it is what it is.

Honestly I prefer people to not talk at all. It's come to the point that I see toxic sarcasm in what really are lighthearted jokes because of all the shit I've had thrown at me throughout the years of playing this game (and teambased multiplayer games in general). If no one talks there is nothing to misinterpret.

It doesn't help when people take offence to said encouragement as an insult to their skill or whatever.

And you can't just focus on your play as this is a team game. Riot has constantly pushed the game to be more team-reliant than solo-based.

Fuck that. If my team mates are garbage they need to know it. Though I generally don't berate my team mates during play, I'll let them know they're pure hot trash when the game reaches a point where I know it cannot be won and a loss is inevitable, usually around the time the second inhibitor go down and two or three of them are dead. Feeding fucks need to know that it's not ok to go 0-7 in lane. Maybe next time they will play bots(don't I wish) and stop feeding in ranked games.
