this is 100% of the reason why i got suspended for 14 days. and i left a ticket already... do you guys think this is really an insult??or substitution of 14 days suspend?? also i'm really Korean and won the game.

I have not seen any source through the first few pages of google results that describes Koreans or any other nationality using the word “%%%%” to describe themselves. I have seen every source say that Koreans almost completely consider it to be offensive towards their race.

Certain words that are only derogatory aren’t permitted in League. While you yourself may not take offense to that word, the consensus seems to be that the rest of society and many Koreans consider that word to be derogatory towards their race. You don’t know how your words will be interpreted in League with complete strangers - don’t use hate speech or derogatory racial slurs at all, no matter if you your self are okay with them.

I don't see how it's insultful if he's using it on himself. It's like black people saying "my %%%%%"

I'm pretty sure if a black person said that in game they would get banned. The game client can't tell what ethnicity or race you are and frankly doesn't give a damn.

I don’t care what your race is, it’s either an offensive term or it’s not. The whole reason the terms are considered offensive is because they’re racist (i.e. based on race). If you say “well if a certain race uses the term, it’s not racist”, that in and of itself is inherently a racist statement as it’s discriminating who can use a word based on their race. That’s not the topic of this thread however.

The topic of this thread is the words usage within League. Within League, you don’t know what race anyone else is, and you don’t know how others will interpret your word. Thus, it’s necessary to assume someone will not accept your usage of hate speech even if you yourself do.

Yes. That’s what zero tolerance means - it is not tolerated. This is a very strong warning that it is not acceptable to use that word or other hate speech.

i used to think we are different cause we are not from same countries. however you or such as others like you think Race first before country. this is true so i will stop.

i typed Goook. but im seriously so sad. i just used that word as korean just for a joke. also i mentioned it as a JOKE. also im from korea. and in korean, Korea pronouns 'han goook' for real. the word that i used is really bad such as 14 days suspend?

Assuming you're....actually naive and not just taking the piss, the word used is an.....extremely offensive term for people of Asian origine, namely from China/Korea and the sorts.
